I've had great luck finding out-of-print fantasy and SF novels at www.paperbackswap.com, an Internet book trading site. You post at least 10 books you're willing to send to other members who request them: when you do, you earn a credit you can use to order a book from another member. Some things I've gotten this way were available immediately, like Transit to Scorpio, Tros of Samothrace, and Hugh Cook's Wizard War. There's also a wait list you can use to request things as soon as someone posts them to the system - I used this to get the AD&D "1.5E" hardbacks like Wilderness Survival Guide. I love the site because it lets me find obscure books cheaply and clear unwanted ones off my shelf at the same time!

Hey, I just stumbled across this site the other day! I was thinking about signing up---it's good to hear that it works.
Funny, I was looking for Dray Prescott books, too...

Yeah, I hesitated to let others in on it for fear of increasing the competition for obscure books that we all suddenly get turned onto, but then decided that having more of us getting rid of other obscure books would ultimately be good from my selfish perspective

I've already got most of my final 3E books unloaded through there, and I'm starting to go thru my throwaway book pile (I usually donate them to vets agencies, but the computer software manuals are definitely recycle material)

Yep, it's a great site. My wife turned me on to it about a year & a half ago. So far, I've managed to acquire: #'s 1-36 of TSR's old Endless Quest book series, #'s 1-12 of Joe Dever's Lone Wolf series, a few Fighting Fantasy gamebooks, really clean copies of both the AD&D1E Player's Handbook (wizard cover) & Fiend Folio, as well as other assorted treasures too numerous to name. Right now, I'm waiting on a copy of the Palladium Fantasy Role-Playing Game (1st ed.). Sometimes, you can strike a 2 for 1 deal with other users of the site. That's how I got a hold of all these gamebooks. ;D
Happy browsing!
