I just moved and my Internet access is a little spotty right now, so if I ever go more than a day without checking in, go ahead and have Gozer do what you think would be appropriate.
Put me in the marching order where a guy with a rifle and a good eye can do the most damage. Gozer always defaults to shooting first and asking questions later.

Do y'all want to see dice roll results for combats and encounters, or do you just want me to post narrative based upon what I roll up here at home? Just fyi, I use real dice (not on-line dice rollers) and roll all encounters.
For instance, the move today resulted in no encounters. I rolled the dice and the came up empty, you knowing what the rolls are might spoil the game to a degree (knowing the % chance for an encounter).
This is your game, however, not mine. I'm just the ref.

I'm happy to leave all dice-rolling up to you, esp. since it'll facilitate a faster flow of action for you not to have to wait for our dice results.

I'm totally fine with their being a Virtual DM's Screen. And I'm not averse to having you do all the dice-rolling either.

Blast radius for a grenade in this campaign is 30 yards.

I had to travel out of town on short notice, and will have limited access to a PC and these forums until Tuesday the 24th. The game is suspended until then. My apologies for lack of advance notice.

I'm back from my trip but have been dealing with a divorce. I know that sounds like a lame-o excuse but it is nonetheless true. My apologies for all for the delay but my life has been a bit of a whirlwind. It has settled and we should be able to conclude the adventure with no more interruptions.

re: the battle.
Is this what you had in mind when you asked to see how the HD work? If not, let me know.

I thought the attack of the yellow men would be tougher than it played out. You figured out early your grenades were effective against the anti-electronic field and employed good tactics to allow you to keep these weapons in play.
The leader was a fierce opponent and you took him out without even mussing your hair. I will tell you that was a lucky grenade throw but ... dice don't lie!

Yes, that's exactly the glimpse of variable HD in action I was interested in! It's good to see a demonstration that you can get d12s for HD but still die of rolling 1s and 2s.

Regarding your prisoners, we have had several resolutions suggested:
(a) torture leader, sell followers to the slavers
(b) sell them all to the slavers
(c) kill them all
(d) leave them as is, let Darwin figure out what to do with them
Have I covered everything? Please leave your vote or alternate suggestions here in the discussion thread ... I will follow majority rule or, lacking consensus, let the dice decide tomorrow morning around 0530 CST.

Being divided in opinion amongst myself, with my PC going one way and I another, I support dicing for it.

For those wanting to know more about Carcosan witches, of which Lont the witch is obviously one, you can download the free resource "The Carcosan Grimoire". One of the posters here, "The Age of Fable", kindly hosts the Grimoire here: www.apolitical.info/carcosa/There are two formats, identical except for layout: one for printing and one for reading. The witch NPC can be found on page 19.

I'm always glad when the urge to pursue personal power (which often winds up "suffering a terrible fate") doesn't weaken the rest of the party, so I'm glad that Berist has succeeded in drawing away the shambler!
Thanks for a great game, everyone; I'll look forward to reading the rest of your adventures.

I am stunned that your team defeated both the Shambler and Obregon with but a single casualty! This combat gave the play-testers fits. Congratulations on a fine job!

Mostly down to luck of the dice, I'd say. Tavis did well to draw off the Shambler, though I don't know whether he planned it that way. Still, a good result for the team either way Did Obregon get an unlucky HD roll? Or did Gimyip just get lucky with the grenade blast?

It wasn't the best grenade toss in the world, but it wasn't far off the target. Obregon, a Ninth level sorcerer, failed his save versus both the incendiary grenade and the sticky bomb. I was surprised he missed the first, and really surprised he missed the second. Then, Casal's rifle shot rolled some devastating damage. By the time Bothess and Gozer got their turn to fire, Obregon was down to a single HP, and both of the last combatants hit.

It seems like we have accomplished everything we set out to achieve.
We secured the lotus, We bought Obregon back from his imprisonment, When Obregon went nasty, we put him away for good.
Overturning Darsiaas's occupation of Jaftgong wasn't part of the original bargain... is there any real incentive to challenge a second terrifying sorcerer in a single week? Are our PCs emotionally invested in Jaftgong, or are we itinerant adventurers?

We've reached the end of the adventure. With the divorce and its attendant chaos, I'd like to take a short break from running the game.
If there is interest? In a month or so, I'd be happy to continue the game; either from this point or a new adventure.
Good job everyone!

Congratulations and thanks to Dubeers on an exceptionally well run game.
Great prose and depth throughout, and also a nice balance between action and planning. Very well done I thought!
