I was all excited about receiving my 4th printing copy of Chainmail (3rd edition) in the mail today..when a guy named Neil informed me he got one from Amazon.com for $24! somewhat less than what I paid. his might be a later printing though but big deal..they'll still allow us to finally play this game Allen

I hope that his isn't the redo of Chainmail. The original Gygax Chainmail game is the one most closely tied to OD&D, but WotC created a "Chainmail Miniatures" rules set about 6-7 years ago and sold a bunch of collectable miniatures. As far as I know, the revised WotC game has nothing in common with the old Guidion/TSR version.

Actually, I was curious so I wandered over to Amazon and they actually have/had a copy of the Gygax version for $25. Of course, now that it's been announced here it will probably get snapped up in a hurry....

Thanks for the heads-up, Fin. I've been wanting to read Gygax's Chainmail but haven't wanted to fork over the ready. The Amazon one may have been of uncertain printing, but it was definitely in the right price range. Consider it snapped up.

Wow. That was fast. Glad to be of assistance and maybe I can get a finder's fee? ;D

Uh uh. Now if you'd PM'd me to tell me about it, we might have negotiated something.
