Here is the place to ask questions and hold out of character discussions. I'm more than happy to clarify and address any confusion, which I'm sure will be necessary due to the game's apparent strangeness. I'm never sure exactly how to walk the line between too much and too little information. So please feel free to ask questions, chicagowiz. I am likewise dying to answer them.

I been considering how to will handle group movement around the game world. I think what I will do is wait until 2 conditions are both: 1) 24 has passed, given everyone a chance to chime in, and 2) more than 50% of the group is in agreement.
What do you all think?

I also want to take a minute to talk about play style.
This game is a true sand box. Soon, things will be happening around your characters. I'm going to throw a bunch of plot hooks at them. You, as players, are under no obligations to follow up on anything. But if you do, those hooks will usually (I hope) lead to something interesting. If you decide to follow a hook, you can break away from it at any time.
Right now, for example, your characters are marching upward toward the surface (or so I believe). Later, after leaving the cave, you might decide to explore it further, possibly discovering the meaning behind it and how your characters came to be chained within its depths. You might also decide to do something else entirely and never return to that cave or even pay it a second thought. Both choices are fine by me.
Some adventure locations might present an unbeatable challenge, at least at the beginning of the game (I will try to telegraph this properly), but might prove surmountable later on. It will be your choice when/if whether or not you ever venture there.

Thanks tombowings - I'm really enjoying the slow reveal of information. I just got done reading sci-fi/fantasy anthologies that I picked up at GaryCon and this reminds me of those stories where the reveal happens as part of the story. While I'm dying to ask questions, I'm also allowing for discovery. You already answered one in revealing that we don't remember our birth! So that, to me, is a huge clue. That tells me that our "life" may have unremembered bits! That the limits of our memory may not be all that there is to who we are. (So, then, what happened to us?) To your other questions, having run/played in PbP, sometimes schedules happen to where 24 hrs is too soon - especially on weekends. What I've done is set up expectations and "marching orders" assumptions - so like if we get to a point where we need to make a decision - give 24-48 hrs for decisions and at the end of that time, go with the majority (or caller's) direction. If there's standing/marching orders already agreed upon, and no decision was made, go with that. What do you think?

I was talking about movement-related decisions (right or left; north, south, east, or west). We can always slow down whenever we hit a more important decision.

There is a chance I'll be going away this weekend for the Easter holidays. My wife's family's village house doesn't have wi-fi. So I might go dark Thursday-Monday.
Another note on my schedule, I work 13 hours days on Mondays and Wednesdays. If I go silent then, it's because I didn't have a chance to put together an update.
I'll move the adventure forward today when I get home from work.

Bastet1002 - thought you'd get a kick out of this - Abasire lives on! The PCs delving my Dungeon23 megadungeon tracked down Elves that they'd heard behind a door they couldn't open. They found another way around. They found Ifan and Glyn who'd been in the Black Maw for some time. Glyn is quite mad, and I needed some way of making him wacky. So I "borrowed" Zinion's patter and now Glyn is talking to Abasire - a dead human companion that they lost elsewhere in the same level to a strange, multi-legged, segmented creature with a face of tentacles. So the PCs were messing around with some odd objects in another room and one of the PCs asked Glyn what Abasire thought... and Glyn said "Abasire says 'You're all going to die down here!'" Hope you don't mind me borrowing the idea!

Ha ha ha! No, not at all chicagowiz! He is a Creative Commons (TM) character. Probably Abasire is that evil deceiver that everybody needs... tombowings, I've really enjoyed so far. FYI, Zinion actually began as Zinon. But I'm fine if everyone calls me both or either, which people seem to be doing, (or even Abasire

Guys let me know if you think I'm laying things on a bit too thick with my Zinon / Abasire schtick. I'll tone it down if it is getting a little annoying.

Zinon is a ton of fun, at least from where I'm standing.

Hi everyone,
I hope you are all doing well.
Real life happened. I received an unexpected promotion at work at the beginning of September. I've been quite busy adjusting to the new role.
I still have hope that I will be able to resume this game once I have everything in order.
