BLUEHACK™ is more likely to see a second edition in the near future. There are two options:
1) The as-yet unreleased DREAMSCAPE:engine™. This is a pure skill system - no abilities, no class, no levels.
2) Wait for Fria Ligans to revocation-proof their MÖRK BORG licence. They're lovely people now, but what about 20 years later?

Well, there's also the ORC license from Paizo now and Autarch, best known for the ACKS game, plans on releasing a license to accompany their upcoming new edition. You're practically spoiled for choice!

Those are probably more suited to BLUEHOLME, though the devil will be in the details (and the SRDs).

As I mentioned in the BLUEHOLME™ 2E thread, I've been looking at licencable systems with an eye to potential 2nd editions in the future. BLUEHACK™ is a bit more flexible in that regard, so it's always possible I'll just hack it further until it's my own thing. I do, though, quite like the look of Troika! (just arrived today due to a 50% off sale), and MÖRK BORG. BLUE BORG?

I've been considering it, as a tribute to Lemmy.

2) Wait for Fria Ligans to revocation-proof their MÖRK BORG licence. What do you suggest is especially appealing and/or relevant about the MÖRK BORG licence?

morkborg.com/It's basically an OGL, but it comes with a compatibility logo. There's no SRD, but you can use the mechanics freely. So, for BLUEHACK it would be ideal as just tge rules are needed, everything else is taken from Holmes. Troika! is another possibility. I like both of these because they have a similar "attitude" to BLUEHSCK, too.

I've read Mork and had a look at their license. I concluded that it doesn't really offer much for a close D&D clone. What do you think? Sounds like BlueHack might be a different prospect entirely.

Troika! is another possibility. Great game! Based on the (Advanced) Fighting Fantasy System, very hackable and very quick when playing.
