Just wondered if you'd stumbled across any recent cool takes on Core, as I happened upon this: Mythic Heroes & LegendsAlthough it doesn't mention that on its LULU page MH&L is based on Core, expanded with a few modern touches. It has 9 classes – the big four plus Paladin, Barbarian, Ranger, Illusionist, Druid, 10 levels but MU/Illusionist get 12, 3 races – Human, Dwarf, Elf (demi-humans have race as class) uses advantage /disadvantage on non-combat tasks (which use 1d6+mod to beat target number), uses a silver standard for prices. Sure you could just houserule Core, but I'm always intrigued when someone bothers to produce a game then just pops their book on Lulu with no PDF, no presence on forums or DTRPG. I like it when games don't scream 'marketing strategy to the max' at me.

It's fun making your own version of games. I've produced a few Lulu books purely for myself, so it's not odd to see someone setting their labour of love Lulu project to "public" but not wanting to bother with the whole marketing business.
