Someone came up with a 7-in-1 type of dice. Looks like it's hard to stop. If you own a 100-sided die, you'll know the feeling.

I have a d120, so with a little mental math it can be any of the standard dice. It will also serve as a missile weapon …

A d120 sounds like the ideal die to roll MERP critical hits and fumbles. One of my AD&D groups integrated those tables for our games.

This shows the difference between a credit card and a pouch full of gold pieces. Both can buy you stuff, and they are cool in very different ways. I think I prefer a dice set (pouch) but a "does it all" die (credit card) has it's uses.

I do have a few players who for whatever reason just can't differentiate die types, especially 8s/10s/12s, so I wonder if this sort of thing would be of benefit to them. I should add a few to the table.

I've found that the main challenges with dice like d100 or d120 are:
1. waiting for them to stop - they take a long time if not rolled in a dice tray 2. reading them clearly - it's sometimes hard to see which face value is "up"
I have a d100, but I don't use it often, except when rolling up MERP characters. I generally use percentile dice instead when gaming with other folks.

I should add a few to the table. I just tell them to make a row of their dice with the top number on the top. Can't find the 14-sider? Look for the one which has a 14 on top. (This is a particular challenge at my DCC table where you have those d14's and d16's.)

Here's the ultimate dice set that I own, to which I add a couple more 6-siders for rolling those ability scores: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08WKNXGQK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1It has the following dice: two 3-siders a 4-sider a 5-sider a 6-sider a 7-sider an 8-sider a 9-sider two 10-siders (for percentile rolls) an 11-sider a 12-sider a 13-sider a 14-sider a 15-sider a 16-sider a 17-sider an 18-sider a 19-sider a 20-sider a 22-sider a 24-sider a 26-sider a 28-sider a 30-sider And yes, I need all those dice.

I should add a few to the table. I've found that using dice of a specific color works well for beginners. So if they have trouble identifying dice, just tell them to roll the blue/red/etc die. If you have more than one player, maybe you can buy multiple dice with the same color to make it easy for everyone.

These days, to reduce my own mental load when playing, I stick to one color for each die type. Being old, and having imprinted early on the colors of the Creative Publications dice that TSR sold with the OD&D boxed sets (see John Peterson’s rundown: playingattheworld.blogspot.com/2020/02/identifying-dice-of-1970s.html#more), I have yellow 4s, pink 6s, green 8s, blue 12s, and white 20s marked 0-9 twice, so roll them with a d6 to indicate the high or low range…(oh, and a few red 20s marked 0-9 twice to make a percentile roll easier; at the dawn of time, I had to roll that 1d20 twice…)

I would enthusiastically patronize any business that sold a set like that in those colors (with 3 d6's, naturally).

I had to Google for the pink d6s and the 0-9 d20s, so it wasn’t that hard even if there isn’t a package already made up.
