Oh, and thanks Melan! Looking forward to seeing more conversation on it 'round the web.

Lulu is great when it works I agree absolutely calithena. I think you would be hard put to find a better, more affordable option. In my case, this is the first problem I've had with them and I'm not going to write them off for one stuff up. I think the printing quality of the "Aussie made" FO!#3 is great.

Just got mine. Astounding. I'm not sure how to begin digesting so much awesomeness!
Guess I'll go oldskool and just start at the beginning...

Just got mine. Astounding. I'm not sure how to begin digesting so much awesomeness! Mine came today as well. So far the only disappointment is your "Devil's in the Details" article. Not the chart itself, not the drawing -- those are wonderful and poetic as always. I was disappointed by the note that said "third & perhaps last in a series." Say it ain't so! Let's see one for goblins, or dragons, or wizards...!

I'm glad you've enjoyed the articles! It's been a blast writing them, but I've got some other stuff that I've been sitting on and I simply don't have enough RL time to work on it all. I figured the three main player races were a good first installment. The Devil and his pesky Details aren't finished; I imagine next I'd do the three main ODD classes, and then perhaps three classic monsters---maybe goblins, dragons and ogres (I'd love to detail ogres into something like the frightening child-eater in Vance's Lyonnesse...)

My copy arrived today. It's truly incredible (Issue #3, I mean ... not the fact that it arrived today). Heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed. This one is going to take a while to get through.

I figured the three main player races were a good first installment. Now, now, "three main player races" should surely include humans and half-orcs! ;D

I received my copy a couple of days ago. Great stuff! I've only skimmed it so far, but the Wilderland's Wild North, Fomalhaut, and Spawning Caverns of the Crab Men really stand out as uber-cool. (And I noticed that there is a town called 'Akrasia' in Fomalhaut!)
One minor criticism: the inner margins are too close to the binding, making the book sometimes difficult to read (without cracking the spine).

Oh yeah, another minor criticism: there is no explanation (as far as I can tell) of the terminology used in the book (viz. DC, WD, etc.).
