Monstrous Manual (2e) AC 9 Creature Catalogue (BECMI) The Enchanted World Series Thanks for the Creature Catalogue; did not know of it. And that Enchanted World series looks great!

I really like the 5e Monster Manual. It has every classic monster, with great artwork, and thoughtful fluff/lore. Plus it does what OSR games never seem to be able to do, which is make all the various low-HD humanoids mechanically unique and interesting. It takes a lot of work for an old-school DM to make Orcs, goblins, hobgoblins, gnolls, etc. seem interesting when there is no significant difference between them other than maybe a few HP or AC.
For an old-school bestiary I like the Swords & Wizardry Monsrosities hardcover.
