The CD-ROM still looks like a better deal or did I miss something?

The CD-ROM still looks like a better deal or did I miss something? Maybe? I'm not familiar with the CD ROM, Frank. Humble Bundle sends a portion of the funds to a charity as well.

Mark Miller sells the CDs: www.farfuture.net/Contents%20CDROM%20Classic%20Traveller.pdfI’ve got mine loaded onto my hardrive, so I can reference whatever quickly. (I’ve also got the JTAS one.) Practically speaking, my messing about with Traveller these days is usually limited to a retro-minimalist collection of the 3-book rules in one form or another, Supplement 4: Citizens of the Imperium, and Supplement 6: 76 Patrons. As Jeff says, though, part of the proceeds go to charity, so if you don’t already have a CD, it’s still a pretty good deal.

True, the charity aspect is a good point, and if the bundle has everything one is looking for then it's worthwhile. I just always like to point out the Marc Miller sells CD-ROMS for $35 (USB thumb drive available also I understand) that have everything for Classic Traveller: All 4 editions of Classic Traveller (1977, 1981, The Traveller Book, Starter Traveller) All supplemental books (Books 4-8) All Supplements (1-13) All Adventures (1-13) All Double Adventures (1-8) All Alien Modules (1-8) Games: Imperium, Snapshot, Mayday, Azhanti High Lightning, Fifth Frontier War, Invasion Earth, Dark Nebula, Striker All modules (Beltstrike, Tarsus, Spinward Marches Campaign, Alien Realms, Atlas of the Imperium) All 4 Special Supplements (Merchant Prince, Exotic Atmospheres, Missiles, The Lost Rules - which documents some of the differences between 1977 and 1981) The Traveller Adventure A handful of other bits and pieces are included also. Several of these items, particularly 1977 Traveller are not available any other place to my knowledge. This is an amazing bundle of stuff.

The only thing the bundle offers not in the CD-ROM is a setting (maybe other things?) written by Merle Rasmussen. Not sure how specifically traveller or not it is.

Thanks for the FYI on the CD ROM- That's an excellent deal for a true Traveller fan. I'm a casual fan so it's wasted on me. I could get by with Starter Traveller and the adventures for the rest of my life.

Is it currently available for free?

Is it currently available for free? I think it rotates in and out of free at DriveThru every so often. I got it there years ago as a freebie (along with several Judges Guild Traveller items- must have been a Traveller special) I did have it back in the day in print, and repurchased during my collecting days (sold my collections off 17 years ago). I do wish the charts/tables were in the rulebook- it's not so bad in print, but in PDF it's a real PITA .

It isn’t free today. I’ve got a much-worn print copy that I picked up as something to fill the downtime during a music convention in 1990 (when I didn’t have my whole LBB/JTAS/etc collection with me). It’s spent more time traveling (Travelling?) around with me than any other version, supplemented with Citizen and Patrons as mentioned above. It would be easy to play indefinitely with just those rules…
