I really tried to resist buying any of these, but I just couldn't hold back any more. First impressions are IMPRESSIVE! They really did their research and put together a great book. The aesthetics are on point and so far I'm really enjoying it. I don't know when or if I'll be able to play it. On a side note I also bought the Neon Knights adventure and what a disappointing gimmick. I knew when I pushed the buy button that it was going to be a gimmick, but sheesh. It has nothing to do with the classic album, not that I expected it to because i doubt they could get the licensing rights, however it could have at least been a wink and a nod. I don't understand why the cover is an homage to Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (Ozzy era) yet the name is from a Dio era song. Kind of a mismatch and feels off to a real fan. Now this just makes me want to finish up my Black Sabbath tribute RPG: Master of Reality. (OK, I have enough projects already, that Princess of Mars adventure and its prelude a Western RPG are priority).

I own all of the Goodman Original Adventures Reincarnated and am happy with them. I own many of these in previous edition printings, but I like the fact that they have converted to 5E and I don't have to do it. Also, Goodman Games has particularly good quality, in my opinion. (I should mention that I playtested much of their early DCC stuff but I have no affiliation with their 5E products.)

I have 1-5 as I know the originals and was realyl interested in a 5E conversion. The books are really great, there's a lot of info in there.
Is Castle Amber as good as the rest (the adventure, not the book)? I've never played Castle Amber, I must admit.

I've never played Castle Amber, I must admit. HERESY! Seriously. Buy it. It is a classic for a reason. Moldvay's best in many minds, and the best of the X series for many as well (myself, included). And on topic, yes the GG conversions are great- personally I've no use for the conversions (Classic Modules Today on DMsGuild is much cheaper and just as effective), but the collector side of me loves the various printings and cover scans. Not to mention the articles with the designers, and history behind the modules.

Actually, I haven't played Castle Amber yet, either. I keep hoping to read more C.A.Smith first, as the module was inspired by a lot of his works. I assumed that if I read those stories the module would run better.

Castle Amber - after the CAS grounding, enjoyed best perhaps with a Roger Zelanzy cigarette.

I've not read the Averoigne fiction either. But the module is bloody brilliant.

Castle Amber - after the CAS grounding, enjoyed best perhaps with a Roger Zelanzy cigarette. I wish they would develop some modules based on Zelazny's works. When I first found the Castle Amber module I was so excited, then crushed to find that it had nothing to do with Zelazny's Amber. If I was king for a day I would pass a law that no one could use "Amber" in a title unless it ties in somehow to Zelazny.

A setting book for the Dilvish stories would be even better!

I want to get the Lost City one simply because the original is begging for expansion, and I want to see what they did with it.
Maybe also ToEE because it’s a monumental work which deserves hard covers. And I hope it will be a 1e book and a 5e book, so maybe I can find a 5e person and split the cost.

Falconer They reprint the originals as original (so TOEE will/should have the original 1E stats), but any and all expansion work on these adventures is/has been done in 5E stats- Except perhaps the monster stocking in ISotU, where I think they did those in basic D&D, IIRC.
