Haven't seen this mentioned around here yet, but the wonderful Kevin Crawford released the free version of his fantasy rules the other day. Very much based roughly on B/X the same way his Stars Without Number is, but distinctly his own product and more fleshed out with character options. More like a product to rival core 5e or Shadow of the Demon Lord, really. One thing I find interesting about Sine Nomine is that they qualify as OSR products but don't seem to fixate on that label or aesthetic. The author doesn't wax poetic about the good old days and uses a different authorial tone than others in this corner of the hobby. Perhaps that's one reason, along with their presentation and quality, that they have a much wider appeal than other products we like?

I recall hearing about this. It's not what I expected. 353 pages. Yikes.
Skimming through, it seems this is T/OSR inspired mechanically, but a lot more moving parts similar to 3E/PF Lite or a possibly a full option 5E (as you state). Lots of codified actions for combat and the skills and many fiddly systems like the traits and whatnot for weapons or crafting. I see plenty of modifiers and rules hidden in bits of text like 3.X. 13th Age is more rules light/"rulings not rules" than this game.
That said, the DM half of the book looks absolute gold. Tons of interesting random tables. Glad to see just sets of basic #s for monsters and not a big list of the SOS. Lots of bits to steal here.

The GM tools in his books are often cited as the high mark by reviews. It does seem rather heavy for my tastes on first read-through, but I felt the same about SWN when first reading it, but when I played in a game it was a lot simpler and more basic than I assumed.

I think you have to get this off of DriveThru? It doesn't seem to be available at that GeekNative link.

Do you wink? Do you like to wink and drink? Is the thing you like to drink, ink? Is the ink you like to drink, pink? If so, you need to get yourself a link, I think.

It's not necc too heavy for me- Just feel that based on what I've looked over I'd stick with something I don't need to learn more/new rules for- 13th Age, even 5E. I don't see it offering a compelling enough gameplay factor to dive in, so to speak. Something to steal from though for sure.
