I'm far from a medieval history buff, though OD&D has actually gotten me interested in doing more reading to add some depth of detail to my setting. But whatever level of historical verisimilitude we each aim for, this kind of thing can't help but inspire! The HUGE medieval French tapestry depicting the conquest of Englamd by the Duke or Normandy already has me thinking up such details for my game world. Maybe I can adapt real tapestries like this to represent major battles in the fantasy world. Anyway, I thought that this was a remarkable and inspiring effort on the museum's part and wanted to share: www.bayeuxmuseum.com/en/the-bayeux-tapestry/discover-the-bayeux-tapestry/

Nice! My dream one day is to use digitized images like this to feed into one of those programs that automatically turns images into cross-stitch or embroidery patterns, which I can then feed to a computer automated machine stitcher and create my very own Bayeux Tapestry to hang up.
