It seems these days that every hack OD&D/sci-fi conversion feels a pressing need to rename the magic-user and cleric classes, yielding "Star Knights", "Scientists", "Psionists", or whatever.
Enough is enough.
Magic users are not "Force Users" and they are not "Science Users". They are "Space-Magic Users". They employ "Space-Magic" and make "Space Potions".
Clerics are "Space Clerics" serving "Space Gods" like "Space-Crom". Space-Clerics can turn "Space Zombies" and "Space Ghouls".
Yes, robots can also be space clerics or space-magic users.

From the title of your post I thought this was for a new retroclone. I'm good with space sorcerers and space clerics casting space magic against space dragons. You might need to name the fighters something else though...maybe space warriors instead. Could get confusing.

Are we creating a "Space-Dungeons & Space-Dragons" game? I've run a game like this 2 or 3 years ago, heavily influenced by the cheesy lyrics of Gloryhammer's first two albums. The story started with album 1 as mre or less pure fantasy, and continued to album 2 with Space-[stuff], Astral [stuff], Star-[stuff], Void-[stuff] (the Voiders were the bad guys. Like... aVoid them, you know). The players were Space Barbarians, Space Clerics, Space Dwarves...

I would probably buy a game called Spacemen and Space-Magic just for the title alone. And remember that space is filled with planets occupied by the gods and monsters of the Cthulhu Mythos: Yuggoth, Xoth, Yaddith, Korvaz, Carcosa, Tond, Yith, Shaggai, and many, many more.

If you like that kind of game, maybe take a look at Tales of the Space Princess (Lulu link). Nice rules-light, pulpy sword & planet game.

That's a great supplement. I hope they finish up with the 2.0 version soon!

This sounds a lot like Starfinder. Space fantasy with both magic and psionics. I wish that there was a Starfinder more like OD&D or 5E and less like 3E. Maybe Spacemen and Space Magic could be that.

Mish-mash Swords & Wizardry Whitebox with Whitestar. Cut out the bits you don't like (like Star Knights or Alien Mystics). Maybe throw in a dash of Space Age Sorcery or Terminal Space. Boom, done.
