Howdy Stoerm! I know a bunch of peeps who've been at GaryCon and NTRPGCON. Do you know any of their real-life names I can match them to usernames. I'll take a stab and ping grodog as he's generally pretty out there and meets bunches of folks when he's at the Black Blade Publishing booth. Let us know so we can get you on board asap.

Ha! Funny you should mention Black Blade. I was headed there on the last day to snatch up some OAR books they had on hand and had foolishly packed my badge already and was therefore disallowed entry to the vendor hall. I was also going to buy a piece of Doug Kovacs original art, so my mistake saved me a lot of money, but I was a little bummed.
Are you in Redmond, WA? Or is that just part of your name? That B2 project I have planned should be really interesting and if you're nearby we can discuss!
But honestly I've been all-RPGs for about 40 years since my WHFB days in the 80s. Just now delving back into wargames because of that B2 project and my work with a student group at the university that is very active in wargames (mostly mech stuff though). So I know a DCC guy named Michael and a handful of others who are into wargames, but I don't know that any of them are here, as they're mostly Warhammer and Turnip28 oriented.

For what it's worth, I have seen Freep post on the Hyperborea Discord.

Hello odd74 I've just requested to join as chuckleberry.
Some of you may already know me from: Not being super online. But maybe one of you bought some D&D or AD&D items from sigthealmighty on eBay when I sold off most of my collection like a big, dumb idiot a decade or so ago. I also have a moderate posting history on reddit as reverendchuck. (Only a few posts are gaming related though).
or from gaming at: Gen Con a few times in the very early 2000s Winter War (Champaign, IL) sporadically. Probably six or seven times between 2000 and 2020. GameStorm in Portland, OR for the first time last month. Wednesdays at Lucky Lab in Portland.
Some of my pals on odd74 are: NOBODY! NOBODY AT ALL! (But hopefully some of you, eventually!)
As I mentioned above, I'm not a hyper online individual. But I recently attended my first convention since moving across the country and have been getting back into the hobby. I grew up on 2e, but I got tied in with some local OSR groups at the con, one of which is running OD&D w/ Chainmail. Enough of my Google (well, DuckDuckGo) searches to get up to speed wound up leading here that I figured I should make an account so I'm ready when I have something worth adding to the conversation!
Mods, please see my membership request.

rhialto gives you a bit of a reference which is perfect I was headed there on the last day to snatch up some OAR books... So weird, I hadn't thought about those OAR adventures in a bit, and I was talking about them and the DCC 1e (conversion) modules a couple times this weekend. Good stuff out there from the past, and still being created. Gotta love it. But Redmond is my name (I have a very unoriginal username, though I'm happily stuck with it) though Washington is where James Kramer (RIP) of Usherwood Publishing fame was from, so lots of old school goodness comes from those western shores. We'll have to get you in stoerm ! We recommend you introducing yourself here: odd74.proboards.com/thread/1/introductionsGlad to have you here and being a part of OD&D74! Hello odd74 I've just requested to join as chuckleberry. Please check your Reddit chat.

Greetings!
In case you are unaware, a great majority of the posts on Ruins of Murkhill are made by a single, prolific poster operating many “sockpuppet” accounts.
Is there a lot of crossover between there and here? We hope not. Frustratingly, he used to copy a lot of the content by posters here, and re-post it over there.
We will have to check out some of your other references before approving your membership, but I just thought I’d address that, since you asked!

oh dang. It was clear to me that the vast majority of content there is from two accounts, but I was unaware that there's sockpuppetry going on there, that's wild. Sucks that he was reposting y'all's content. Makes sense now why it's rather dead there.

Just frustrating that good stuff needs to be hidden, and not at all our first choice. This place was founded to foster open discussion of OD&D, and hiding ANY of it is highly frustrating. But, that's the world we live in, sadly.
