At long last, I have Night Shift in my hands. Dealing with UPS Freight was nothing short of a nightmare, and I ended up having to go pick up the delivery myself with the help of my dad. Worst customer service ever. Despite charging the printer an "inside delivery fee," they told me when they called to schedule the delivery that "we don't offer WHITE GLOVE service. We'll leave it at the curb."
"Wait," I said. "So I have to figure out a way to get a 1,300-lb. skid of books up my driveway and into my garage with no heavy equipment?"
"Well," the woman said, "That's not my problem. You're free to drive up here and get it yourself, then you can put it in your own garage."
I swear, this is literally the conversation.
So I called my dad, who has a half-ton pickup, and we scheduled a pickup for yesterday at 5:30. When we arrived, they threw a tantrum about how people need to stop showing up for pickups in the evening and tried to tell me I was going to have to go home and call back tomorrow. "Nope," says I. "I've been getting the runaround on this for three days now, I was told I could come here at 5:30 to pick this up. I want my skid of books."
It then took them two hours just to find it. That was after I had to refuse to leave AGAIN.
TWICE.
Finally, they found it, we loaded it up on my dad's half-ton pickup and trekked it back to my place, about an hour away, and then with the help of dad and my lovely wife, got it unloaded and shifted into the "warehouse," which is actually my garage.
So without further ado...here it is!
So When Do I Get My Copy!?
It's coming, I swear! I'm still waiting on the Players' Guides from the printer for those. I also have to secure packing materials (I wanted to wait until I had everything in hand so I know exactly what size boxes to buy). From there, shipping will commence! I am hoping a week, two at the most, before the first books go out in the mail.
Again, Tim and I cannot begin to express how grateful we are to all of you for your support in this project. It means so much to me to have Elf Lair Games cross this threshold. There's great things to come so please, follow us here, on Facebook, on Twitter (@elflairjasontlg), on the web, and join our mailing list! I am very much hoping to launch a second Kickstarter this summer, as soon as this one finishes shipping (or shortly thereafter)!
