I've been reading this, I've had a hard copy for years. It's a bit slow going to me though, but I thought I'd read it since my PCs are on their way to Pavis.

I'm totally unfamiliar with this. Can anyone give me some idea what it's about? It's a bunch of short stories set in Pavis mostly featuring the Griselda character. The early stories were first published in White Dwarf magazine. White Dwarf 29 Lucky Eddi Oliver Dickinson - Fiction set in Pavis, Glorantha White Dwarf 30 Griselda gets her Men Oliver Dickinson ...being a sequel to Luky Eddi : Fiction set in Pavis, Glorantha White Dwarf 32 RuneRites Griselda's Statistics from fiction in issues 29, 30, 41, 42, 43 and 51(Also see Big Rubble) White Dwarf 41 A Tasty Morsel Oliver Dickinson Griselda's exploits in Pavis, Glorantha - Fiction set in Pavis, Glorantha White Dwarf 42 Shamus Gets a Case Oliver Dickinson A Pavian tale of passion, love and fear - Fiction set in Pavis, Glorantha White Dwarf 43 Hanufas Little Sister Oliver Dickinson Griselda Story White Dwarf 51 All in the Family Oliver Dickinson Griselda Fiction set in Pavis, Glorantha

At the time these were the major source of setting info for a lot of RuneQuest players.

I didn't buy the pdf, but this thread inspired me to buy a hardcopy of the original! There was one up on Ebay on at reasonable price, ~$23 (I think the original list price was $18). Got it yesterday (brand new copy) and started reading some of the introductory essays. It's very interesting piece of RPG history.
Back in the '80s I only ever found one back issue of White Dwarf and it was #29, which happened to have the first Griselda story. I was only vaguely aware of Runequest at the time, so I didn't really know what to make of it but now I'll be able to appreciate it more.

At the time we were playing RQ with the rulebook and very little else, so these stories basically told us what Glorantha was like (specifically the city of Pavis and the adjoining Big Rubble). As soon as Greg started expanding and "gregging" it, we were turned off. These stories are still so fresh and fun for me, even after all these years.
In fact, it probably explains why I like the Boinger stories so much. It's the same mix of irreverent carefree fun.

If you want more Griselda than The No-Longer-Complete edition has then you might want to look into the stories presented as part of the Kraken chapbook series.

I actually had never heard of these until recently. EDIT-Correction- I did not know what they were. I had heard of them in the 199os during my collecting phase of Avalon Hill RQ materials.
White Dwarf was non existent where I grew up. My Dad won a vacation through his business to England around the time of the Falkland Islands action, and my Mom found a bunch of magazines she knew I would like while there because I'd always wanted to go to the UK (I still hope someday to visit the UK)- one was White Dwarf. First and last copy I ever saw until the whole Warhammer thing shot up in the 90s and GW stores came to the US.
The only thing I ever had for Glorantha lore and used was Cults of Prax and the corebook initially and what I could glean out of SnakePipe Hollow, and Ballastor's Barracks. Then of course the boxed sets started to come. I still think Borderlands is the best thing Chaosium ever did for RQ.
CONDOR EGGS???
Yep. Condor Eggs.

I have a mostly complete run of White Dwarf up to issue 60 or so. I may have missed an issue or two, and I know for sure I lost at least one resulting in several holes in my collection. Issues 1-3 showed up in reprint form at my FLGS and being hungry for anything D&D, I bought them, and then was able to pick up the subsequent issues as they came out. Fortunately for the holes in my collection it is possible to find the old issues hiding in dark corners.
