countingwizard, that's a lovely charsheet! You may be responsible for me buying a Roll20 account to use that... *sighs*

I'm in! But keep in mind that I'll have a 1-year-old to herd, so I may be in and out of the camera even if I'm present and listening. It hasn't really been a problem for online gaming yet, but just keep that in mind in case you already have enough interested players to run it without me.

No worries! We're all dealing with kids and families being around. My granddaughter interrupted an interview last night by using the bathroom closest to me... and the "FLUSH" was very audible in the recording!

Well, thinking that with only one participant so far... Saturday 10am isn't a good day/time? Or nobody's interested?

Sorry, that's 8 am in my timezone. I'm not up that early, especially on the weekends. Besides, I may have other commitments that day. But thanks.

Oh, it's OK, I just threw the 11th and 10am as a strawman. I could do later on Saturday or even Friday.

I don't think I can do Friday, I might actually have another game then. Any time Saturday from 10 Central on works for me, though.

In terms of keeping Tabletop Events afloat during this crisis, did y'all see this? tabletop.events/conventions/con-of-championsPerhaps we could all go over and offer some D&D (original) for folks. It would benefit D&D, us, and Tabletop.

I saw those listed yesterday! I haven't gotten a badge yet because I need to check with my wife's schedule to see if I can even attend anything, let alone run a game, but in theory I'm ready to sign up for stuff.

Great! Once I am allowed to start buying tickets (I am a "super star," I think) I plan to sign up for your Saturday 10am Three Hexes Seminar. I'm really looking forward to it. I hope to play in one of your 1e sessions. Pending approval, I am trying to offer a session of geoffrey's Mike's Dungeon. I proposed Monday 10am. We shall see! Fight on!

Hey Michael Would you take someone who has never played OD&D before (despite being on an OD&D message board...)? I played AD&D for about 20 years from the early 80s and I've enjoyed your 3 Hexes posts greatly. Malcolm

I'll put out details tomorrow. Michael

OK, finalizing details and will be sending out a private message to folks who are interested in playing OD&D this Saturday! Let me know if you want to be added - I have 5 players and can take 3 more.

I've put my special twist on B1 - In Search of the Unknown. I've set up the maps and keyed the keys. I've gathered 5 adventurers...
In the (slightly modified) words of the Great Q...
Game starts at 11am CDT (UTC - 6)! There's always room for one or two more... we're using Zoom and Roll20. PM me!

My B1 one shot was great fun!
Players chose to explore the lonely tower above Quasqueton. Within the watch tower, they found a dead goblin, giant centipede inside of it, 100 gold coins and two dog sized black widow spiders. They explored upwards towards a densely webbed floor of the tower, but after encountering a talking (and angry!) giant black widow spider, they retreated and headed to the basement.
From there, the PCs finally started delving the deeps of Quasqueton! A player was poisoned from a trap and nearly died (down to 2 hp!). They wandered among mazes and halls, through empty sleeping quarters and then into some strange teleporting room trap, with a group of hungry kobolds trapped there too!
We ended it at that point, but there is the promise of much more in the mysterious rock chambers and corridors of the Unknown. Hopefully we will get back together in 2 to 3 weeks and continue!

I had a great time! I've run quite a bit of B1, but this was my very first time actually getting to play it (beyond solo gaming, anyway). The funny thing is, while I think I've had upwards of 10 different overlapping groups go through the place for 1-4 sessions each, they've all taken different routes, and none of them have ever explored the area we went through! It has great replay value as a module. The referee is free to make it his own, and map has so much going on that memorizing it is difficult, and even a tiny change will throw everything off.

I’m just so glad to read about folks in our tiny online community actually playing together.
Small silver lining, I suppose. But IMHO it is important to celebrate the little things.
Fight on!
