It occurs to me that Picard, while still managing to be quintessentially Star Trek (moreso than Discovery, IMHO), is an outstanding model on which you could run a Star Trek game. The traditional Star Trek game stretches believability. You're either always on the bridge of a ship which just breaks down to tacitcal orders and die rolls, or you're the people who for some strange reason are on Every. Single. Away. Team.
Picard shows us an entirely different model. You can still play the crew of a starship making their way in the galaxy, exploring strange new worlds, establishing contact with new life and new civilizations, but you don't have to be part of a giagantic starship crew with hundreds of people. You can be independent, doing what you can for the people under the radar of the Federation, the Klingon Empire, the Dominion, and others.
It's a really interesting concept, and it would be challenging to maintain the principles of Star Trek apart from any other generic Sci-Fi game, but it seems to me it's a great jumping-off point.
