Hey everyone,
Weird question. I’m looking to source a component from the older TSR games. In particular the maps from divine right and Empire of the Petal Throne are of a really high quality and I’m trying to find out what they’re made of. They have almost a waxy quality. They feel like they can be folded a lot and are very durable.
I’ve also heard that TSR’s old printer in wisconsin is still in business, if anyone knows who printed TSR’s old stuff I’d love that information as well.
Thanks!

I'll have to look at my boxed sets (packed away in the closet at the moment) but my memory is that most of those older maps weren't actually printed on paper but something more like plastic. I'm thinking of Lankhmar, Dungeon!, EPT, and others of that era. I assume that's why they can fold so well.
I really can't recall about Divine Right. Maybe that one is on paper.

It was printed on cardstock paper without any type of sealing or plastic lamination, as such, the paper has the texture of a brown paper bag. The weight (thickness) of the paper is similar to an index card.
