I've always been a big fan of it, personally. But I was looking for the general consensus.

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe. Be friendly, or I'll cut your toe.
Hello, new member, and greetings from the mod squad!
This is a friendly reminder to you and to everyone that constructive criticism is always encouraged when it comes to judging the works of fellow fans.
Nitpicking, overly aggressive fault-finding, wise-donkeying, female-dog-ing, or, generally, everything that falls under rule #3 of these boards, is NOT. That has to remain absolutely clear if you want such a discussion to happen. To evade any possible misunderstandings beyond that, the OP is referring to this Youtube channel: www.youtube.com/channel/UC58vcumHuz1SJqDewjyESQQIt's created by an English teacher living in Japan, by the name of Jonathan Scott. From what I can tell, honest fan stuff; not some high-concept presentations, or anything I personally would care to review in detail. Watch and enjoy, yes; but not review. ...Definitely our corner of the internet, though.

Thank you! I was a little confused by the OP. Interesting Vlog, I'll have to check it out.

I have watched a lot of his videos. They are always fun and worth trawling for extra info. At the same time Jon does not do any hard research for his videos. The example link is a case in point. As a person who was there, I am always disappointed when people do not cover any of the computer dungeons on PLATO. PLATO is still being emulated at cyber1.org My best friend made a computer dungeon back in 1976, and I got to help create a map for one of the levels. This was called Pits of Baradur, or simply baradur when entering the lesson name to run the program. PLATO also has the oldest multi player shoot em up game called Empire. It is a start trek based combat game that combines both strategic and tactical combat. We still have a core of players who first started in the 70's and are still addicted to it. Yes, it is that good a design. In fact there is no multi player game with the same level of strategic planning as you try to take over the universe, mixed with tactical ship to ship combat. Our claim to fame is that we are the oldest networked computer game club in the world: www.facebook.com/groups/413096732143412/So while one could read about these early games, my advice is to get a sign on, download the PTERM terminal interface, and simply play them all.

PLATO also had an awesome NFL football game. Wish I could find it on a regular computer platform. Most computer football games either are all about hand-eye coordination or go to the other extreme and force one to set linebackers in the proper position. The PLATO one allowed one to pick a base formation and then a play to go with that. Not super easy, but I didn't need to have a degree in Football, either.

I don't bother with the opinions of people who would rather be on camera than put their thoughts into writing.

I clicked on the link and saw the list of topics of the vlogs, and the topics look solid enough. Not quite ready to actually sit through a bunch of videos so I can't say anything about the content. I guess I sort of agree with scotttenkainen that I'd rather read than watch.

I've probably seen all of his videos and may have recommended his YT channel here and there.
I enjoy listening to his ideas, and experiences in running his adventures.
I seldom agree 100% with anyone on anything, so it's not an issue to me whether I disagree or agree with what he's saying.
My one exception to his approach, which is not unique to him, as many embrace it, is that I do not personally like playing in or GMing games that are so thick in magic, its like having to cut soup in order to eat it.
Other than that...

I can talk to the admins about it. If it exists they likely have it on an old platter hard drive.

I enjoy hearing other people’s opinions on topics that interest me, whether it be on camera or in writing, so I’ll go check this out right now.
Thanks for the heads up.
