I have a used copy of Source of the Nile that is missing its crayon. This is probably a dumb question, but is there a specific type of crayon I should use? I have a hunch my kids' Crayolas aren't quite right for this... Thanks for any direction you can provide!

My copy has three- a blue, brown, and green. They're not really branded. Each one is labeled "wipe off crayon" with "made in U.S.A.". Most definitely not crayola. More like those cheap waxy crayons you get at restaurants for the kids to doodle on their place mats with. They might be identical to the crayons that use to come in the box sets to fill in your dice.
BoardGameGeek has fan made maps that you can print out if you want to avoid taking the chance of defacing your SotN board.

Personally, I put an acrylic sheet over the map and drew on that with wet-erase markers...

Additionally when using a sheet of plexiglass or clear vinyl you can use wet erase pens for a bit more control than the crayon
