Hello everyone!
The Blue Box was the first D&D game I ever had back in 1978-79. So I have a soft spot for Holmes and its spiritual successors.
I'm in the process of creating a small adventure (for personal use) using Vile's Tower of Zenopus dungeon map. Instead of using the typical monsters, treasure and magic from the Blue Box and early D&D, I've wanted to have the same elements taken from sources that inspired Holmes.
Does anyone here know of a Holmesian setting that's been created?
It would seem to be a mashup of ERB's Pellucidar, Lovecraftian elements, Conan bestiary and a pinch of HR Haggard, A. Merritt and CA Smith.
Thank you for your help! R

Hi, you might want to check out the Zenopus Archives, especially the section on "Modules, Scenarios and Settings" for some ideas.

And I should have added--if you check upstream on this site, in the "Holmes Basic D&D (1977)" folder, you may find some items of interest there as well.

Thank you. I also found this particular thread that is helpful. odd74.proboards.com/thread/1090?page=1I also found the Holmes forum. Don't know why I didn't see it earlier. Lots of great info there.
