This may not be the right place for this, but we cover all OS games and while I've never played Runequest I always wanted to. I also wanted to meet Greg Stafford and talk about Glorantha with him....alas, that will never happen now. Ride Well Greg, and may the Quetst of Heroes be yours! Mike

Very sorry to hear this. Glorantha and Runequest led to many fine games in the RPG field.

I felt a bit as if I were punched in gut when I read the news.
Mr.Stafford's works are among the pinnacles of the hobby in terms of design and concept. I will firmly argue till the end of my days that Pendragon is the ultimate marriage of system and setting.
My condolences to his loved ones, and eternal peace to Greg himself.

Wow, great story! While I'm sure it wasn't the first, I remember picking up one of the first Champions books at Asgard 1981 in Atlanta, GA. I loved that book, though I'll admit it was so worn due to play it probably wouldn't be worth much. It got stolen (along with much of my gaming collection) by an ex-roommate while I was in the hospital after my car accident that blinded me. Same with my Call of Cthulhu 1E rulebook and sourcebook. <sigh>
Funny how some of the best games seem to drift away from you, one way or another?

For those interested, here's a fairly recent (3 yrs) interview of Greg that I found informative and fun: ivebeendiced.blogspot.com/Scroll down to ep 74, since the show doesn't have a dedicated page. Mike
