Does anyone know how many print runs the original 1977 box got before the revised printing came out in 1981? I've seen number lines as high as 13th printing.

That seems to indicate only 12 print runs, though it looks like I have a copy from the 13th print run (I wonder if they skipped a print run number or something?). Frank |

Thanks for the info ffilz. 12 or 13 seems a safe bet at this point. My personal copy is a 3rd print.

In my copy, the row of print run numbers definitely starts with 13, but the article implies the print run data is taken directly from GDW records. I may just be remembering this article, but I thought I saw an article with the numbers for each individual print run, but I can't find that now. |

Frank In FFE OOO, The Classic Traveller reprint from ~2001, it lists the 1977 Traveller as 12 print runs for a total of 64,320 copies sold. The 1981 Revised as 8 print runs and72,410 copies sold. "The publication data page (counting from the front of the book, the publication data page is page 2: the page after the title page) of each of the Little Black Books contains a string of numbers (1 2 3 4 5, etc). The lowest number in the string indicates the printing for the book" |
