As with many others (well everybody at least), I am developing an OSR rule set. It is titled Faerie Tales & Folklore and is a historical fantasy RPG that utilizes literature and mythology as the seeds of various earthly settings. The system itself is based around Chainmail/0e, with a heavy bias toward Chainmail. Some of the games important features are listed below.
It should be noted that the game is still in a beta stage. That said, you can expect everything from spelling and grammatical errors, to continuity issues. I work diligently to resolve all that are brought to my attention, or that I find myself. I am not the sort to keep shamelessly plugging my work incessantly, just wanted to share for those who may be curious.

Currently the community is ask to join, but the rules are downloadable through development.
- Three Methods of Play: The system is setup to allow for basic war games with miniatures, classic player/referee style narrative roleplaying and a form of cooperative narration where each player takes turns being the referee. There is also a "Tall Tale" story telling form of play offered.
- Multiculturalism: The rules have been built around a few systems which simplify the inclusion of other cultures. It should be relatively painless for a player or referee to bring other cultures into their games, earthly or otherwise.
- Three Systems of Magic: All of the magic in the game is "non-Vancian". Miracles, spell based magic (based on Chainmail), and spontaneous magic are all available for use, though spontaneous magic is usually reserved for creatures.
- D20 Based: All appropriate rolls have been converted to d20 from 2d6. This is to keep in line with the iconic d20 identifier of D&D. Care was taken to keep the odds as close to the originals as possible.
- Simple & Deep Character Creation: 3 classes, 3 lineages (races) 12 backgrounds, and a few options to create characters from Achilles to a hashashin, or from Fionn mac Cumhaill to a qinggong master. There is also a set of pre-made character archetypes for use as quick characters or villains.
- A Full "Sandbox": Create full games on the fly. Everything from new realms, to fanciful creatures, to deathly dungeons can be created at random on the fly. This makes play possible with little pre-game setup.
- Additional Advancement Options: There are several ways to gain benefit from adventure beyond simple levels or treasure. There are other uses for experience points, a system of plot point which provide benefit in many cases, as well as basic tools for kingdoms and trade.
- Full Creature Catalog: Hundreds of creatures from animals and men, to hell hounds and zmey. Attention is paid to keeping the names and abilities of all the creatures as close to the myths as possible.
- The Otherworld: A complete cosmology based on religious and shamanic ideology. There are places one's spirit goes upon death, and strange lands between this and the next where otherworldly creatures interact with the mundane. There is an larger conflict within the game between the mundane and the Otherworld.
- Complete System Encyclopedia: All the needed rules are provided within one volume. The PDF is downloadable though development, and will always remain Pay-What-You-Want after.
