Chainmail 1e said: "It takes four simultaneous hits, from either missiles or melee, to kill a Lycanthrope in normal combat."
Chainmail 1e also said in the next paragraph "Ogres are killed when they have taken an accumulation of six missile or melee hits in normal combat. Elves can kill them with three hits, and Hero-types or magical weapons kill them with a single hit."
How did people read the second one back in the day? Did they read that as simultaneous hits, or could the hits come in different rounds?

I'm no CM expert, but I read it as the latter. YMMV.

A better word to use might have been consecutive. A Lyc must take 4 consecutive hits, where hits on an Ogre need not be consecutive.
