I pressed the button to generate a male name, and got "Sh*tnet".

If you recall, there is some discussion about it over here. And it is indeed a sweet little utility.

I'm looking for a mapping tool to make those old blue module maps Not exactly what you're looking for, but terribly cool nonetheless. You can also generate side views and cubes(!). But maybe this is more what you're looking for (select "oldschool D&D" from the drop down). I think the site requires a java plugin or some such thing.

I interpreted that part as "seax," the long knife used by the Anglo-Saxons. Seax

If your referee has an odd tool I don't want to know about it.
Yes, I just made a wiener joke.

But will it stand up under scrutiny? It's hard to tell. One thing is certain, we can all expect some stiff competition.

Author here, just wanted to add some background on the names.
The tools are "odd" because I wanted to refer to "Oth edition Dungeons and Dragons" without actually putting the trademark on my site. "Cabbage" was included on the epithet list as a Discordian reference, unless I'm misremembering that and actually found it in a list of royal epithets. "Sæx" in the sword-name suffix list does indeed refer to the Anglish knife/shortsword, not any sort of carnal knowledge. The personal names are "confluxed", meaning they are generated by following the patterns of existing names (kind-of like the dissociated press algorithm), meaning that if the source names anywhere have 's' followed by 'h', an 'h' by an 'i', and so on, then an offensive Anglo-Saxon monosyllable may occur in a name.
In general, I added names for characters, castles, and swords as a little bonus feature to show off the kind of procedural generation I like to play with, easily ignored if not suitable for the particular flavor of Oe game you want to run. The epithets in particular should be considered to be ironic, mocking, or self-applied as a form of over-compensation more often than not.
Tonally, my other project (The Heavy Metal Apocalypse) is much more compatible with the sort of humor on display in this thread.
Thanks for the attention and kind words!

Great, elegant tool.
I'm curious about weapons. Magical arrow seem to dominate the generator. Is this from those old OD&D magic item tables?

@mrjoshbear: Thanks for your input. One thing I noticed is that X is used to represent Charisma. I know C was taken, but why did you decide to choose X?
There's nothing wrong with that, mind you. I'm just curious.

Great, elegant tool. I'm curious about weapons. Magical arrow seem to dominate the generator. Is this from those old OD&D magic item tables? Yes, everything is as by-the-book, rules-as-written to the 0e LBBs as I can manage, and book II says 40% of non-sword magic weapons are various amounts of arrows. Obviously, this has utility to anyone running such a game, but it was also away for me to get inside the implied world of those tables by being able to generate lots of results quickly.

Curiosity question, whenever I erase the text, it doesn't allow me to do anything else. What is the reason for that? I refresh and it still doesn't work. So I have to re click the link to get it to do anything again.

So I have to re click the link to get it to do anything again. Hmmm, that is vexing. I'll have to dig in to figure out why that is happening. Meanwhile, holding shift and hitting reload does restore functionality as a workaround, although it does wipe out any text. If I switch to HTML-formatted output, that would render the whole issue moot.

That is indeed a Discordian reference! It refers to non-Discordians... Now you just need to add "Master of the Turkey Curse", and you're cooking with oil! Really, really great stuff, btw!
