A little project I've set myself is to answer the question "What if Barbarians of Lemuria were mashed up with (O)D&D?". I'm sticking with BoL stats, careers, Hero Points and a number of other "BoL" things, but from D&D using D20, classes (just two - The Hero and The Magician), levels, Hit Dice and a few other things. I've nearly got there with the project and I have to say it isn't half bad. I'm aiming to have this out before the end of the month.

So I've made a few changes based on feedback received and now added an (optional) new class The Priest (thanks Jason). I've been tinkering with other aspects and it's beginning to look really splendid. I'm intending to publish soon, so anyone who I sent a copy to who hasn't fed back needs to get back to me soon if they want their thoughts considered. I don't hang about once I think something is ready!

Following a review where the reviewer said there weren't enough monsters, I've uploaded a new pdf with a few more pages on monsters. I listen to my purchasers!

I've read through it, looks like a great adaptation of BoL to d20-based rules. I really like the demon generator!

I got my print copy from Lulu today, and am going through the rules. Everything looks very nice and workable. The gamers I know would probably balk at the free-form magic, though--they'd likely want a defined spell list and casting system along more traditional OSR lines. To keep things in the family, I'm considering using the Cleric and Mage spells from Tombs & Terrors, for Priests and Magicians respectively.
I also got my print copy of Black Books with the same order, so I'm also musing over how to mash up the two games to create a Lovecraftian sword-and-sorcery game. Maybe burn Arcane Power points instead of Sanity points to cast Black Book spells? Puny 20th century magic users go mad when tapping the powers of the Outer Darkness through their spell casting, but back in the day, Eibon and Thulsa Doom and Rotath of Lemuria and Thoth-Amon kept it together when they worked their mighty magicks. (They just became more twisted, depraved, and evil.)
Good job on both games, Simon!

There was the option in the rules to use spells from any OSR game...nice that you thought of Tombs & Terrors!
