Yes! I've read through those recently. They're great!

I've been following those. They contributed to my decision to follow a similar path. I had been tossing around ideas for a Travelleresque campaign, but was getting mired. Going back to the basics is a wonderful way to get out of the mire.

I really really really want to do a shared-universe pbp campaign where everybody rolls up an area of 2x2 sectors and sends them to me. Then everybody designs one alien race and sends it to me. Then I create some empires, figure out budgets, assign each player an empire to design ships for. Then everybody designs three specials and sends them to me, which I drop on planets somewhere. Then we actually start a campaign in that shared creation, but every now and then people might be asked to fight out a fleet action somewhere in the game and send me the results, or something like that.
I am just too extended to do that right now.

Interesting new post on creating the subsector with '77 trade routes: talestoastound.wordpress.com/tag/traveller-out-of-the-box/I really really really want to do a shared-universe pbp campaign where everybody rolls up an area of 2x2 sectors and sends them to me. Then everybody designs one alien race and sends it to me. Then I create some empires, figure out budgets, assign each player an empire to design ships for. I am just too extended to do that right now. Get the players to design the empires (I'd call them polities), too, that should take some of the load off. We had a great time 10 years ago at the dawn of Spica Publishing, designing the Spica Sector with different people designing different subsectors. We worked with our neighbours to make connections across the artificial boundaries created by subsectors. I think a project like that could well work, especially if you scale it back to subsector level. Although maybe our sister board at OD&D - Campaigns and House Rules Discussion would be more appropriate?

Don't worry, we'll be discussing the rules side of thing here, too!
