Sean ponders the situation and asks, "Didn't you mention something about a crooked prohibition agent who wanted you guys to pay him $500? Now this idea just popped into my head and it's pretty crazy, so I won't take any offense if we don't do it, but I was thinking we could use that angle. Maybe notify a reporter. Then send the money to the prohibition agent's boss saying that an agent asked for the delivery, and because it seemed so important, you didn't want it to get lost. The reporter might be able to front the $500 as a business expense since he's getting a story about corruption. We can sell that if the boss doesn't do something, he's corrupt as well and will be an even bigger story. That's one version.
"The other version is we don't do anything like that but notify a reporter about the corrupt agent and let the reporter take it from there, and hopefully we still have a nice contact. I'm happy to pull the bank job ASAP. I was thinking about maybe setting up some kind of road block and ambushing the cars away from the city, or somehow getting to them before they arrive at the bank. As long as we keep at least one of the regulars and try and force him to act normal while we cover him dressed as the other guards.
"Those are the fanciful plans, the simple version is that we just strong arm the guards steal the car and take off. We may want to wear masks which could draw attention, but also protect our identities. I'm also open to any more well thought out plans. I'm just doing a wee bit of brainstorming.
"In addition I most definitely am up for asking for some extra firepower. I would really like a shotgun to use for our capers."

If you guys want, see if Fingers is in a cooperative mood. I would have an update of our rackets in mind in case O'Banion sees ya and wants to know our progress. If Fingers doesn't work out, there's Levon's Pawn on the corner. See what he's got, see what he'll take in exchange. The word may have gotten around about us moving on Torio's businesses, so keep an eye out." Tommy raises a toast to Luck and good fortune.

Sean will head to Harrigan's to see if he can track Fingers O'Malley down. He'll keep an eye out on the bank, just to notice traffic patters of customers, which doors are in use when, and also to see if he notices any regular beat routes by policemen or patrol cars that go near the bank.
Tuesday Sean will keep his eye out on the bank, and the Lexington, and possibly head to the pawn shop or to collect some guns from Fingers.

Tommy grabs a paper from the Manfreddi corner news and gets familiar with some reporters names. He'll spend the next few days following stories on crime and try and determine which reporters read....involved. He'll also begin to follow Harrigan's political story, specifically looking for who opposes his cause. He'll walk across to Levon's Pawn and ask if any weaponry makes it's way in and may I see his inventory. Later he'll meet Jimmy to continue their introductions at B.Allen's Department store and then to Harrigan's for a drink.

Big Bill Johnson comes up from time to time while discussing crime in the first ward. The Police chief is Garrett who meets with Harrigans and makes statements.Joe DeMotte is the Democrate who opposes Harrigan and criticizes his term as ward boss... The owner's son, Abraham is there. His father is not. Abe comes off as a bit sketchy. He asks AL: "So, do you gentlemen represent any one? Local I mean? What is it I can do for you?" Tommy and Jimmy continue their rounds on Tuesday and make an impression. people are generally skeptical...

Monday, April 12th at 10 PM Sean heads to Harrigan's to meet with Fingers. Upon entry into the "cafe" Sean finds it doing business but quiet after the week end. Only about 20 customers are present. There around 5 of O'Banion's men there. Fingers is in the office. When you enter he looks up with a cigarette handing from his mouth and says "what can I do for you Seany boy?" Sean asks Fingers about "borrwing" some fire power from the gang. Fingers responds "Yeah, we can do that. All jobs have to approved by us. We take 50% of the take. We can provide rifles, tommy's, pistols and shot guns. we may even be able to get a BAR. Now, when you have a plan, let us know..."

Sean smiles. "Ahh Fingers... 50% is a lot of return for the investment of a few guns. I'll need to talk it all over with my partners of course. We may also need a vehicle if we're going to be giving up those percentages. But it's always good to know we can count on you. I appreciate it."

You aren't allowed to do anything without consent or tribute. That's how it is here. get used to it. O'banion will cover you for reprisals. he will pay off politicians and cops. He will assist you with disposing of bodies or anything you don't want to be found. He will have the strength of his gang behind you. If anyone threatens you, they threaten O'banion himself. So next time you got a "problem." Let me know. we'll manage it as a group. Your friends talked about their own operation? No problem. As long as you pay the share. Then you have our flag. Anyone messes with your business, they're messin with us...OK? So, run it by us. we'll give you the "support" you need."

Sean nods. "Oh I get it. I was just surprised at how much that share was. Trust me, I'm on O'Banion's side. I think I've shown that, and I'm looking forward to continuing to be of service. Alright, Fingers, Cheerio, old sport." Sean heads out to find Tommy and Jimmy.

We are looking for a person who may be able to purchase items that have become separated from their owners. A discreet transaction with benefits, when the time comes. Other than that, tools of the trade to help us acquire these items are also needed."

Sean will join Tommy and Jimmy as well as fill them in on what O'Malley said about using firearms and the percentage split. Sean says, "I'm okay with giving a split, but maybe we should try and pull this job on our own if possible to reap more rewards. Although, 50% of several thousands of dollars is better than trying to do the job and having it not go off because we didn't have what we needed. Though if we're giving up 50% we'll definitely be getting more help than just a couple of weapons."

The more intimidating the less chance of having to use them. And I know how this sounds, but these will be for protection as much as intimidation. There's a lot of shady dealings going on these days. What about you, are you connected with anyone, or is your pops? Tommy replys.

Jimmy says JB: "you think we can get away with the bank job without anyone knowing it was us?" "If we hit it outside of town with masks, we may be able to enjoy the fruits until it catches up. We probably need our own Dr. too. We could always do two jobs on the same night, use the second as an alibi for the first?" Tommy replys with equal concern.

Sean nods, "I like the idea of doing two jobs on the same night, especially if the decoy job is fairly simple and low key. To hit the cars outside of town will we need some kind of road block? Are own vehicle? We can plan it out, and then worry about what we need."

Jimmy replys "we're gonna need to know the route of the Brinks boys. Where they are coming from. Where are they going to. What days they have a good haul. What days they don't. This could take time...Friday we are gonna make collections on the block then we have to move on the next block going North for O'Banions crew...This Friday will be a busy day for sure...
Gentlemen, it's Tuesday, April 13th, 1920 in the afternoon. What do you do for the rest of the day. What do you do for Wed, Thurs then Friday...

Tuesday night, Tommy would like to get a car/go looking for one, with Sean. Maybe then on Wednesday, Sean can use it to determine the Brink's route better while Tommy and Jimmy can keep working the block. Also Tuesday night, I was thinking Jimmy could get friendly with a girl over at the Lakefront Hotel. Maybe use her for info on the comings and goings of Torio's gang. Maybe a good working Irish girl who makes-up the rooms, a waitress, a cigarette girl. Try the employee entrance in the alley. Go for a cup of coffee, build trust.
Also on Tuesday, before Tommy and Sean head out, Tommy makes an anonymous call to the Star News. Tommy leaves a message for Jake Mingle/Crime Desk. Message: If you contact (X) Diner, 8hrs out of town, and ask for the person who opened up on the morning of (X), he'll tell you a funny story of two men tied and gagged behind the dumpster. Those two men were later shot to death on Dutton Court a few nights later. - Signed, Mr. Details.

Tuesday Night: The Lakefront City General Hospital. Tommy and Sean linger about the parking lots looking for the night watch. They determine which cars are parked patient/long term/overnight, which is an employee lot, which lot is for Doctors etc. After a while(Obsevation), they pick a ride and go for it(Auto Theft). Tommy calls the Star Newspaper and a female switchboard operator answers. "How can I direct your call?" When you ask for Jake MINGLE the female says "Mr MINGLE is out, can I take a message." The message is given and recorded on a message pad. Jake Mingle will get it on Wednesday morning when he comes in... Jimmy cleans himself up, shaves then puts on his "best" cloths. He heads over to the Lexington to meet some staff. Jimmy lacks the looks and communication skills of Tommy but...he likes girls! It's all in the effort...

"Maybe O'Banion has a rat in his organization who gave us up to Torio....and he's putting the cop on us? That night in the alley was messy, maybe the cops are just plain on to us? Who knows? Let's just stay clear of there for now and everyone keep your eyes out for tails. Harrigan may know some cops, next chance, we'll ask him. Jimmy, why don't you go with Sean today for the drive. He'll need someone to watch while he's driving, or you drive, whichever. If you bring that shotgun, keep it low. We'll meet back here later." Tommy gives the fellas $10 and says, "for lunch," and then heads out for the Department Store next door.

You couldn't re-paint it because that would make it unique. "Grand Theft Auto" was probably just considered theft. Car licensing was probably in it's infancy. Were there Vin Numbers? Tommy suggests, "Maybe we can ask O'Banion's boys if there's a "friendly" garage where we could do the necessary changes to make it our own? Unless you had another model in mind for something more permanent? Either way, we need to get a few bucks for it at least, money is short right now."

If you paint, or modify a car and change the license plate then it's just the paperwork that accompanies the License plate registration that "proves" ownership. Do you wish to sell the car?
