Hi,
I'll be moving to the Valley (Shelburne Falls) in June and would love to find a group to play with. I can DM (mostly LOTFP/LL) but would also really enjoy playing. Games that interest me include OD&D/LL/LOTFP/etc, 1e, AS&SH, DCC, Call of Cthulhu, some kind of space thing (d6 Star Wars? Mutant Future? ASE?). I tend to favor pulpy S&S or S&P type fantasy w/dose of horror (not big on demihumans unless they're aliens) but am flexible (a rock and roll space opera would be a blast).
Since personalities matter, I'm 41 and have been playing on and off for about 10 years after a 15 year break or so. I'm pretty left-wing though not a dick about it and I make my living as a psychotherapist. Otherwise, into punk, metal, fantasy/SF (HPL, REH, Dune, GRRM, Lanier... way too many to list), etc. I tend to be a more "serious" gamer, i.e., I seem to get tired of the Python references first, for whatever that's worth. I mean, I like to get goofy (almost) as much as the next guy, but sometimes you just have to shut up and roll the dice, you know?
Anyway, if anyone out there is interested or knows anyone who is, drop me a line. Thanks!
Aaron

That's over by Northampton, right? Absolutely gorgeous part of the state! But unfortunately all the gaming action I know of is closer to Worcester, Boston, Providence, or Nashua. I'm down in Mansfield, about 2 hours away from you.

Aaron Wow, you sound a lot like me, except my name isn't Aaron and I don't live in Mass and I am much younger, only 40 Good luck finding a game there

Well, you are almost close enough to game with the Schenectady Wargamers Association (just under a 2hr drive). There is a monthly game a thon, and a yearly convention. I usually run a game myself, but there are always 6-10 games for both morning and evening sessions. Most folks do both and make a day of it.

Thanks, guys! Yes, Shelburne Falls is about 30 minutes NW of Northampton (I'm in Cambridge now, FWIW). Absolutely beautiful there, but things are so spread out that I fear I'll have to resort to Skype games!
& Ken, I know Mansfield well - that is, I have logged many, many hours at what I still insist on calling Great Woods!

I work in Cambridge, so if you're in town again and have the time for it let's meet for lunch. I still think of it as Great Woods too.

Lots of "Mnot a very nice persons" on these forums, it seems! I myself live just outside Northampton. Sadly I do not have any in-person games going on right now, but I do have a play-by-post campaign set in Massachusetts, if you have any interest in participating. (edit: the board censor software won't let me type the term we Mass residents affectionately use to call each other) Also, I remember Great Woods, I saw lots of amazing shows there through the decades: Santana, Fleetwood Mac, Depeche Mode, Lollapalooza...

Wow, more MA folks on this board than I would have expected. I'm in Pembroke, down on the South Shore.

Last time I was there was a couple summers back - IRON MAIDEN!

I remember Great Woods, I grew up as a hole in the mass - though I am now a Vermonster (12 years or so). I'm not that far from you, and you play stuff that interests me. I'm going to be 41 later this month, and I don't make Python jokes (we memorized that bloody film 25 years ago, it does get old). I'm a professional chef, though I'm constantly looking for the 'exit' sign - but unlike many of my ilk, I have Fridays and Saturdays off. I still have family in Western Mass (Westfield). I'm trying out the PbP and online gaming world, but I just can't get past wanting to actually sit at the table. I went so far left that I flew off the map, but I'm not a dick about it either. I am from Vermont, home of the crunchy anarchists

Crunchy anarchist FTW, though. Maybe we can work something out once I move...

Bumping my own post, a year and change later. Comfortably situated in WMA, still looking for gamers. Anyone?

Come to TotalCon. It is in Marlborough for 2017, February vacation. Sorry - just saw this! I went to Totalcon a few years back and had a great time. Marlborough is over 90 minutes from me, but it could well be worth it. Thanks for the reminder!
