For the 7th consecutive year, I am running an AD&D 1e/OSRIC Session at Winter War 42 in Champaign, IL. This year I’m running R1 “To the Aid of Falx” on Saturday, February 7th @ 3 PM - 7 PM. Here's the event description: For decades the silver dragon, Falx, has protected nearby lands from the dark powers residing in a network of nearby caves. But, the dragon recently discovered the powers lurking therein have stolen five potions of silver dragon control. Now it is Falx's turn to call for aid. Can a party of adventurers act quickly enough to find and destroy the potions before sundown? This is a classic AD&D tournament module. Pre-generated characters of levels 5 - 9 will be provided. OD&D forum members in the area are most welcome to join in. Winter War 42 general info is here: www.winterwar.org/Winter War 42 Event Listing is here: www.winterwar.org/events/7Events are usually added and updated throughout January.

Yes, Winter War is a consistently well-run con. It's a perfect size (esp. for Brave Harold ) without all the nonsense of the bigger cons. It's great for miniatures. The RPG scene is heavy with Pathfinder and the like, but there are always a few old school offerings in addition to mine.
