Thanks for the suggestions. I'm using Times New Roman for now, but I may switch to something else. I also changed the font size from 10 pt to 12 pt. Also doing some rewriting.
Still stuck on a title.

I've moved away from serif to sans-serif fonts, people seem to prefer the latter and they also work better as a rule when reading on screen.

I think the rule of thumb is that serif fonts are more easily readable in print and sans-serif fonts are better on screen.

That's what I heard: sans serif for online viewing, serif for printed work.
My current work is science fiction, so I'm looking for a font that gives off that vibe. I won't use it throughout the text as it may be hard to read, but the title and section headings would work.

You also have to be careful with fonts when producing PDFs: some of them don't render on various platforms, especially older Apple products. I advise you to try to look at your finished PDF on as many different platforms and using lots of different software to make sure something doesn't get garbled. I mainly use Helvetica now.
