I am reviving my blog for my upcoming Greenhill campaign that uses a mix of the S&W and BFRPG rules. I invite everyone to join in the discussion and help me build a classic, Blackmoor inspired and styled game. Grimmhaus

You've just used some key words that make my mouth water! Mostly "Blackmoor inspired." I've had fun reading through your blog so far, but am frustrated by the fact that I don't seem able to reply there. (My computer doesn't like G+ and it seems like when I click on "reply" it tries to go there.) Anyway, I wanted to comment on your "Whiteboxing C&C" entry. Maybe you don't know, but C&C has several layers to it. The initial release back in 2003(?) was actually in a white box and sounds a lot like what you describe -- four core classes, limited level options, and so on. I'm not sure if you can still buy those sets or not, but the early ones were numbered and everything. The nice thing about S&W ansd BFRPG is that they are all pretty much interchangible with OD&D and some other games of the same style. That means I can steal ideas with minimal effort on my part. I'm a lot like you -- when I play a game I keep similar books handy to use as resources. The RC, for example, works well with nearly every D&D variant I ever run. Keep the blog rolling. I give it an A+ so far...

Thanks for the kind words. I'll look into the comment issue tonight and see if I can fix it. The switch from Advanced style games to the more Classic style was a long time coming. I had started to get burnt out on them and wanted something a bit simpler to run.

Comment issue is now resolved. I also may be migrating over to WordPress since it is an Open Source platform.

Copyright date is 2004. I may never use it again, so if somebody wants to get their hands on one, I might be persuaded to part with it...

New posts are up. The newest describes a castle dungeon I am working on (My most ambitious project yet) and some of the setting. You can also see the proto-map of the area as well. If you are following the blog I do appreciate comments and suggestions to get things right.

I enjoyed reading about Ha Ha Tonka Castle! When I went to your blog, it said you were using an expanded equipment list. Which list is that?

It's the Equipment Emporium from the BFRPG website. Most everything in it will be in the campaign.
