Hi Everyone!
I've never had access to OD&D products but the history of the game interests me immensely. I grew up playing a lot of AD&D 1.5e and 2e. When 3e came out it was time for college and I missed that boat. Tried 4e briefly around 2009-2010 but it really wasn't for me.
It wasn't until DriveThruRPG posted the PDF and POD for Gamma World 1e that my interest was re-sparked. I wanted to hop on this in the early 1990's but trying to find copies of the rules then was challenging to say the least.
Needless to say hunting for articles, and inspiration in both Gamma World and early D&D led me to this forum. I'm extremely happy to see that there is still such strong interest in these wonderful games and am looking forward to forming a group once I dust off my old books and brush up on the rules.
Also a huge fan of GDW's Twilight 2000 and am excited that FFE is reprinting the first edition of that game with the Poland Modules.
What a great time to get back into this hobby.

WOW! DriveThruRPG is really great. Just picked up the Metamorphosis Alpha PDF last night only to find out there is a print version of that and now this. Down the rabbit hole I go.

Yes. DriveThru is pretty amazing. That's where I got my PDF and POD Rules Cyclopedia. I may have to break down and spend a few dollars on some OD&D pdf's.
<update> Yup... That's what I did. I can see myself getting happily lost in worlds of OD&D and Simulacrum </update>

My name's Scott. I blogged about OD&D for a long time (Wilderlands, Thool, Dwarf-Land), still do a little, and am just now getting back into reading forums and so on.

Hello everyone! I forgot to introduce myself My name is Robert, hail from Poland, born in 1986, got into RPGs in 1999 or so. Played mainly WFRP & AD&D 2E, since 2016 I judge OD&D (no supplements), 134 game sessions so far. I'm here because just like Gollum I am interested in "roots and beginnings".

I'm ghendar on DF and K&K. I chose this name in a fit of inspiration (or perhaps it was madness. It's a fine line) after watching Whose Line Is It Anyway clips on youtube.

I have heard of your blog and know it is held in high regards by many. I need to find the time to read more blog articles new or old entries. Any particular entries or series of entries that you personally would recommend someone checking out? Thanks

Hi everybody - longtime lurker here (well, occasional lurker). I decided to finally pony up and join full-time, especially as I'm working on a project with Joe Browning in which some of you may be interested. It's a megadungeon called the Halls of Arden Vul. Written for OSRIC, it should see the light of day sometime in 2020. It's been a 10 year project, with something like 2,500 keyed encounter areas, 10 main dungeon levels, 15 sub-levels, eleven factions, 100 new monsters, 200 new magic items, etc. The final product is going to be a beast - probably 3 books, with possibly 1,000 pages of (hopefully) goodness.

Greetings everbody, A few folks might know me from FB, the Dragonsfoot forum, or the old necroboards. Longtime OD&D and AD&D gamer (since 1980) and recently a bit quiet on the forum front, but that might change again. As some of you might know, I've been doing a bit of cartography over the past 10-20 years for Dragonsfoot Publications, & magazine, Jeff Talanian's AS&SH game, Black Blade Publishing and Spellbook Games. My biggest project ever (and likely nothing else will ever top it) were the Halls of Arden Vul megadungeon that I've been working on together with Geleg regularly and continually from 2009 until today. I'm happy to be around here and look forward to interesting discussions about all kinds of stuff.

Greetings! I am farmer and this a slightly procrastinated introduction. I had an account eons back but never posted (this frequently true of me on most forums) as i have been just a lurker (primarily because in most discussions I rarely felt I had much to add other than me too). Lately, with the demise of Google+ (which I joined about 18 months ago) I have returned to the world of forums. As for me I am from New England and have been playing D&D off and on since December 1981 with Moldvay/Cook BX being my introduction to this addiction. Was introduced to gaming via my brother specifically Avalon Hill wargames. Have played many systems and owned many more that never got to the table. Most successful have been M/C BX, ADD1 & 2, MERP/Rolemaster, Star Trek (FASA), Traveller, Decipher Lord of the Rings and C&C. Most recently 2004-7 played with my step-sons and their friends and was hunting for a decent system without too heavy rules and so found myself following heavily the OSR and possess SW-WhiteBox and Delving Deeper with a great internal debate as which to use to get my 12 year old daughter into RPGS. ironically in an afternoon program she just started playing 5E (they have like 12+ players!). so now debating wether or not to 5E (but it looks a bit rules heavy and too FR orientated, a clean no world version would be nice!). I most likely to run B/X though. The last time I played I was in a ADD2 campaign 5 years ago but had to bow out due to work/RL. Tried to get back in but they literally had no room at the table! So here i still having fun learning about the origins of the game and jonesing to play or dm.

Wow I wonder what color and how much hair you had at the start of the megadungeon project and how it's changed when you reach the finished product?
