Is there a pdf option? I live in Argentina and shipping costs can get ridiculous.

David defeated Goliath with a slingshot, so I think slings are OK for clerics.

My explanation: the copper piece was not around when the dungeon was built. You can maybe find copper pieces on random encounters against lowly critters from the upper levels, but the treasures of the dungeon do not include copper pieces.

Any links for free art public domain art (fantasy or historical, old or contemporary) for our own gaming supplements and modules??

Well, it might not be stated in the text, but it is assumed you know about the literary / pop-cultural reference and you would understand it that way.

What has been your experience with +2 damage fighters and the d6 HD standart for monsters? Does it work just ok?

Does anybody here use B/X style ability score bonuses in OD&D? Specially keeping monster HD 1d6. I think delta does (though keeping 18 as +2). Anybody can share their experience with that?

Yeah, the thing is that gold hoarding and civilization building looks more like "new gods" (cleric) morals to me, right now. I'm trying to find a way to reinterpret the druid so as to meld better in the traditional D&D adventuring group (an expedition party in search of treasure). Maybe finding a parallel in modern neopagans or new age types.

I really like the druid class and spell list, and instead ecological treehuggers as presented in modern D&D, I use them to represent the old, pagan faith of mankind, before the advent of the Church of Law. They are now a marginal cult, though with the opportunity of making a comeback as the Church of Law weakens.
Now, I have a hard time finding the reason why they would join a traditional D&D adventuring company focused on dungeon & wilderness expeditions, for gold and domain building. In more "modern" good vs. evil type of epic campaigns, they are an easier fit as player characters.
How do you handle this in your games?

Do you make any distinction between the Wooden or Silver Cross holy symbol, or is it just swag?
Any 70s material (in a zine, module or whatever) that made a distinction?

Question for those how bought issues. Which are the best? which ones are really worth it? For adventures, artiles and alternate rules?

Yes, hireling morale should be an issue.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of setting up a night campfire in the wilderness at your games?
Pros: 1. Most wild animals will not approach the camp, as they are afraid of the fire. 2. Meals that need cooking can be eaten (hunted game or animals)
Cons: 1. Will alert presence to men, humanoids, etc. 2. If weather is cold, no campire will mean a bad rest (-1 penalty to do stuff).
What else? Let's detail this.

I do have a spell called "Door Magic" that combines Hold Portal and Knock. I've been going back and forth with it. Spells to shut doors look fine for 1st level, and to open locks look fine for 2nd level.

I'm thinking about changing "Purify Food and Drink" into a more general "Purify" spell that can also be used to negate the effects of an evil altar, prevent dead people from becoming undead, and other more open-ended uses. Any ideas here?

Here is my take on some of these spells: Hold portal - Allow 10' range so that door does not have to be touched (and possibly trigger trap) and allow 8 hour duration so that party can have a sleep period behind the held door. Shield - "Rotate it 90 degrees, and you get the floating disk. " - This is a great idea, so perhaps Shield could be made into a minor spell of telekinesis? Sleep - "No save, if the target isn't aware. If it's alarmed, gets a save." - this is a great idea . . . Light - "Cast it on the eyes, it causes blindness (save)." For the level 1 light spell, I allow the 30' radius or a narrow light beam out to 120' . . . For the level 2 version of Continual Light, I allow the blinding effect. . . Magic Missile - I have two versions of this spell -- 1) The Greyhawk version "Mordenkainen's Magical Missile" which is per GH and as a named spell, a MU cannot start play with this spell; 2) "Magic Arrow" is a spell popular among the elves that has a duration of 1 turn and a range of 210'. For the duration of the spell, any non-magical arrows fired by the elf magic-user will be treated as a magic arrow. In addition, any arrows fired by the elf magic-user are treated as being fired from a long bow for the duration of the spell. Hold person - what do you think about having this be a limited form of paralyzation -- the affected target cannot move but can otherwise act . . . and then have a full paralyzation spell at a higher level? Some great great ideas here.

You can have an awesome game using just the 3LBBs and making rulings on the fly. You can also apply some unwritten houserules.

You can find the answer for sure by looking into the Eye of the Beholder. Just checked that game manual and it does not have the Charm Person spell. What are you referring to?

Yes. Clerics cast spells on-the-fly in my campaign. Fight on! What are the main differences you have noted in play from the memorization method?
