Thanks Ways and Falconer for your perspectives. I get where you're coming from, though I still prefer the former method. Of course I'll still be buying and playing the DD hardcover, and hopefully the fact that I could only pick out one minor quibble in the entire thing shows how much I like the work.

WotE, since there is no exalt! button any more, I just wanted to say what a great job you're doing with DD. I'm still a S&W WB fan, but can see myself jumping into DD when all the wrinkles are worked out and the finished rule set is in print.

Hey, in the monster section, it describes "Wight Apes." Are they supposed to be "White Apes?"

That's intentional.
All the Barsoom/Warriors of Mars monsters are omitted from DD as they don't appear in the SRD and hence are not re-usable under the terms of the OGL.
The SRD includes a "Dire Ape" which DD adapts to the "Wight Ape" in recognition of the original "White Ape".
