Well, technically it's a play-by-post and not a PBEM but you get the idea.
We're playing a variant of OD&D based around the goal of achieving third level. Your characters find themselves in a dungeon with no recollection of who they are and from whence they've come. They escape the dungeon by achieving third level!
No PLOT! You won't be saving the world. In fact, you'll probably die an ignoble death!
No SUPERPOWERS! You start at first level (and two players have even gone the zero level route) and you'll roll 3d6 in orders for chest thumping old school goodness!
No POINT! The dungeon and encounters are rolled randomly from several sources. I don't know what's behind the door until you open it!
So far we've encountered: confused fighters, wary wizards, a flirty medusa, a fake balrog operated by kobolds, a couple of fire beetles with really bad attitudes ... and MORE!
