Flandil is also primarily concerned with repercussions and our future ability to access the sewers. I say we just leave the guards for now, and if we encounter an increased Spider Temple presence on our way back we can further talk/negotiate/explain at that time... just so long as we're not all half dead and out of spells at that time, in which case our bargaining position would be severely compromised ;D.
I think we have enough consensus to move forward. We will bypass the guards and head into the dungeon.
Jariel will make sure they won't drown.
As he passes the guards, Kell asks, "Why don't we bind and gag them while they sleep and dump them in an empty room, or something? Let them loose on our way out. That way they won't be reporting to anybody and if anybody comes looking for them they'll just be missing."
So long as the Yezudites don't release the spiders before we return... However, I have no ideas for easy ways to kill them all now which won't drain all our spells or fill the sewers with smoke and attract the Yezudites...
You open the door to the room with the secret passageway, and the noise and light wakes up for people who are sleeping on cots. Based on the armor and weapons stacked by their beds, they are relief guards.
