Rob, what kind of music were you guys listening to back in the day? Any particular song, band or type of music stand out or bring back memories when you hear it now?

Rob, what kind of music were you guys listening to back in the day? Any particular song, band or type of music stand out or bring back memories when you hear it now? Well, I've never been asked that question. None during adventures, just to clarify that. Now the rest will definitely be a small mix: I grew up on Rock n' Roll, but was influenced by some Jazz via Herb Alpert, etc. Now Gary influenced my matters of taste towards more Jazz and Classical, both of which he was a huge fan of (including Big Band era), especially Bach, Mozart, Beethoven. His father was 2nd violinist for the Chicago Symphony and Gary insisted his children play violin as well. When we first met in 1968, for instance, all of his 4 grown (Luke was a new born then) children were practicing the violin. So: Classical, Jazz, some Blues, Rock-n-Roll (the latter which I have pretty much abandoned years ago except for particular songs). My tastes have become more widespread since then, and I favor particular styles and songs over period or genre because of that.

Man, so no Black Sabbath playing at all hours? Well it depends how far back one goes in that time stream. I was a great Eric Clapton and Pink Floyd fan in the 70's and 80's. The wave that lead to Metal was not of interest to me, though Uriah Heap had some interesting stuff. I had a VERY LONG party over a whole year, mostly the winter months, this in 1980, and while living above the VP for TSR, Brian Blume. Let's just say that Brian was not pleased... At one point the party people wanted to post a sign (they called me "Koonzie"), so: "Koonzies. We've Served Over 5,000." And that was probably no joke...

The Eric Clapton of the 70s was the best. You can just hear the difference with his later stuff. I remember a meddley of Driftin' Blues/Rambling on my Mind/Have you ever loved a woman that was just UN-believable to me. I still love to listen to it. And Pink Floyd well... Pink Floyd is just awesome. This is me flying my fan flag here.
