This thread is obsolete.V1 of the Ref Rules exists now as a historical document.
It has since been updated to V2 and V3.--- Here's a place to lodge any issues with the hard copy and also the public PDF of Delving Deeper. Neither of these are available as yet... but please hold onto your notebooks until we have them in hand edit: marked thread obsolete.

Hail President Fin! I'm super excited about the print version, as if you couldn't tell. I fully consumed the PDF and think you guys did bang up job! I wish I wasn;t swamped with work and that my son's school year had not just started. I've all kinds of ideas kicking around in my head. Hopefully I'll be less busy when the Boxed sets arrive and I can run some games based on my ideas. {I'll post some details when I get the chance, perhaps someone will enjoy the settings} -Mike

I won't be at all surprised to find a few corrections after the fact... just hoping that they will all be relatively minor!

Hi Simon,
These are probably things I just can't find:
1. Reference to recovering lost hit points
2. The text entry for Gargoyles
Cheers

These are probably things I just can't find: 1. Reference to recovering lost hit points 2. The text entry for Gargoyles I am pretty sure that the original is also tacit on the subject of non-magical healing, only detailing the clerical capabilities explicitly. Regarding Gargoyles, well spotted! I can't see them either FYI -- the text actually reads: I will see whether or not it is too late to sneak them in... otherwise that will have to be the first item on the errata.

For the record: the original healing rules are on page 35 in U&WA. It's easy to miss because the rest of the page is about sea monsters. Characters must rest two full days to regain one hit point, which is quite a bit slower than later publications.

Minor but
Vol 3 Page 35
Staff of Power - "In combat it performs as a staff of striking"....
The problem is you have no staff of striking, only staff of smiting... [As I said minor]

Where are the rules/stats for guard/hunting dogs? They are listed in Volume 1 with a price of 25 gp, but I don't see them on the page in Vol 3 with the stats for horses and other animals. Are they treated the same as wolves with HD 2+2? This is the same HD as war dogs in the Monster Manual.
However, Cameron had one in the game with only 4 hp, so perhaps they only have 1 HD?

I noticed that guards dogs had been missed the very moment Cameron purchased one in the demo game.
Never fear, I have added them to the Reference Rules PDFs (which will be the free for all version). John will be able to add them to the boxed set version if he has not already printed them -- that will be his call.

Just when I thought I was all done with the alphabetical layout of monsters, dogs appeared!
But they are in now. FYI, they look like this:
DOGS are keen nosed pack animals that inhabit plains and prairies. They can be trained only if separated from the pack as pups, but will then have +2 loyalty.
2-16 appearing, No lair, AC 7, MV 15, HD 1+1, No treasure, AL N.

In the pdfs I downloaded yesterday from RPGnow, on the title page of Vol 1, the line for Proof Readers appears to be bolded unlike the other text on the page or in the other volumes. While this is nice for me since I helped with proof reading, I don't think it's supposed to be this way.

Perhaps it's just a glitch in my particular pdf (or the computer - using a Mac). I tried unzipping the file from RPGnow again and it came out the same.

In the pdfs I downloaded yesterday from RPGnow, on the title page of Vol 1, the line for Proof Readers appears to be bolded unlike the other text on the page or in the other volumes. While this is nice for me since I helped with proof reading, I don't think it's supposed to be this way. I can't see this problem myself (on a Windows box) but I can imagine why others might see an anomaly. With all iterations of the three volumes, it happened that one of the proof reader's names was accidentally omitted from Volume 1. I only noticed this error after John had already done the bookmarking of the PDF. In order to avoid having to bookmark volume 1 all over again, I edited the missing name into the PDF in situ. It looked fine to me, so I uploaded it to RPGNow. However, it sounds like it doesn't look the same way to everyone! In any case, I think we can probably live with this issue until a "v2" eventuates. There is no plan for a v2 yet by the way, but maybe in six months or so -- if there are sufficient corrections -- I'll release a corrected version. Thanks for spotting it Zenopus

Page #37 (39 of the PDF) of Monster & Treasure Reference- Warhammer +3 entry overlaps page number in the footer. I'm reading it on a Mac if that matters/helps.

That one was another line which was edited in after the PDF was bookmarked. It's ear-marked to be fixed in v2.

No, I mean I don't see the problem in having the proof readers' names in bold print. The title of a level 4 fighter should be "Proof reader".

No, I mean I don't see the problem in having the proof readers' names in bold print. The title of a level 4 fighter should be "Proof reader". Ha! If you'd have let me edit with Track Changes instead of a documented list of changes, I probably would have tried to sneak something like that in. Well... Maybe not. But I would have at least considered it! A few years ago, when I was doing a combination of QA and technical writing at my work, my boss had me working on a screen where you could share some configurations with other users. They had, appropriately enough, a "Share" button at the bottom of the screen. They also wanted to make it so you could stop sharing your configurations for whatever reason. So they wanted me to put an "Unshare" button in, as well. Ugh. That's not even a real word. I guess I was in a weird mood that day and messed around with the buttons a bit... and then forgot to change it back. So a few days later, another QA person approached me and asked me if I knew what the "Hoard" button was for. "Helloooooo... what's the opposite of 'Share'?" As I recall, it even had Single Line Help that said, "To selfishly keep others from using your configurations."

Don't know if it was changed for print, but the reference official PDF rules have conflicting information about the different types of horses and mules and their speeds and encumbrance.
p. 23 Delving Deeper and Blazing New Trails: War Horse 12", Draft Horse 18"
p. 28 Index of the Fiendish and the Malign: Draft Horse 12", War Horse 18"
