Just so happened to score a great set for reference materials, Time Life Books the Old West, but here's the kicker: I was able to get all 26 volumes and the Master Index that goes along with it. Got it from a rare book collector that is going out of business Haven't even cracked the surface of all of them yet. I had four of the series, but getting the other 22 was a daunting task...

Wow. I've seen a volume or two of that series and they are pretty nice. I think I saw the one on gunfighters.
Dunno where I would have put an entire series of them, however. That's a lot of books!

It weighed a ton carrying it out too. Checked online, on eBay the estimates for it are 61 lbs.
Best part was I got it 50% off.

Enjoy them! The one on the Canadians is particularly interesting.

So far skimmed through most of them and of course read all of the Gunfighters. So far only the Miners has been a boring read.

I grew up with a set of these. My Grandmother bought them for me. Amazing source material. I've read the entire series cover to cover so many times over the years. I LOVE these books. Awesome find. The Civil War series is also really helpful in early Westerns. Lots of background for veteran characters.

I just landed a complete set of these with index for $25 last summer from a secondhand store. A GREAT find!
