My physics students are doing a project where they have to program a spreadsheet to simulate the NASA Pathfinder rocket launch to Mars from the 1990's. Along the way, one of them pointed out a cool picture of a Martian sunset. One thing he remarked on is the fact that the sun looks so much smaller than in an Earth sunset, but of course Mars is a lot farther away from the sun than is the Earth so it's only logical that it would look smaller.

I love that pic; every time I see it I want to volunteer for a manned Mars mission, should one happen in my lifetime.
