(Yes, from the above posts it looks like everyone has selected Option "B": The Dry Well (ie the one without the Yezudites. Only Jaako has not made a preference known, but it looks like he's going along with the others...).
(Re: Electing a caller. In my opinion, this is not a good idea. I've played in many, many, many Play-by-Post games, albiet entirely 'd20 Modern' before now, but PBP is already a very slow way to game, and having a caller will only slow things down further, as each player would then have to have his action confirmed by the caller before the DM acts on it. With the additional problem that if the caller is unexpectedly unable to post for whatever reason, the entire game would grind to a halt until we realise it and switch callers! I say just let the DM use his best judgement. ;D)
(Subtracting 3gp for the Grappling Hook and 1gp for sundry meals and expenses during the day, Renardo now has: 6gp, 5sp, 1cp)
"As you wish, m'Lord" Renardo says to Jaako as he quietly clears the rotting wood away. Renardo now has increased respect for Jaako, being surprised at this hobbit's bravery.
"We can lower you down afterwards, when Lord Jaako gives the all-clear," Renardo says to Brumbar, as he grabs hold of the rope to help support Jaako's weight (Renardo has STR 13).
(Also, note that previously Renardo was only suggesting that somebody drop a torch down the well, he doesn't have any torches himself, so it doesn't clash with Jaako's action in any case ;D)
(EDIT: I know that Jaako is only a Knight of Verbosh, but Renardo intends to refer to him always as "Lord Jaako" despite his not yet attaining a noble title ;D).
OOC: We appear to be converging around the lowering-Jaako-to-scout approach around the dry well. I don't mind having a caller or being one, but I do agree that being too anal about the caller's role will slow things down. Maybe only when a final decision is needed and it's not clear from group posts should we defer to the caller - that's what I do in my game anyway. I also just make the PC with highest charisma + level the caller unless the group decides otherwise. That said, Sir Jaako is willing to serve in the role if we do decide we want one.
I have a concert to perform this evening, so I am going out of town at lunch time. I am going to state my understanding of the situation
You make your way to the dry well in no defined sense of order.
Renardo thinks he will clear away some wood, then help Jaako descend. Jaako is maybe a step behind Renardo Brumbar has palmed a dagger. Moziah has readied his bow. They are both facing back the way they came, in case of guards or other trouble, maybe 20 feet from the well. We just need statements from Carlo and Edyrn and then we can proceed.
I note that Edyrn is currently AC 8 for no armor, but with a shield. His plate mail is bundled on his back, ready to put on. Everybody else is dressed normally: Brumbar AC 9, dagger out Jaako AC 7 Edyrn AC 8 (soon to be 2) Carlo AC 4 Moziah AC 5, short bow out Renardo AC 4, empty handed
Brumbar is weak (5 STR) but he is quite nimble and co-ordinated

Brother Ozmar steps out from the shadows and addresses the group:
"Hail good men. I see you have been brought to this foul hole as well. I am Brother Ozmar. The brothers of my order travel the world fighting the scourge of chaos that encroaches upon the civilized lands. I've been told creaturers of darkness live down that well and have been preying upon the poor and the weak of this city. Join me, as I descend into the depths to root out this plague of devilry!"
