I had heard that (for PC reasons, I assume) instead of having Black Men and White Men and Red Men that the JC movie was going to use tattoos in order to distinguish the "races" on Barsoon. I guess it looks like this: I don't mind the concept, but the zebra striping bothers me somehow.

*Sigh* If they ever made a "correct" version, it would probably be an indie or x-rated in this country.... But the tattoo idea is a novel way to distinguish between the various peoples.

Sooo...instead of the infamous Black Pirates of Barsoom who swoop down from their stealthy airships and one-man speeders to kidnap buxom Heliumite babes, we're soon to get the "Tattooed White Guys of Barsoom"? I'm not quite sure how that qualifies as "PC".

I'm still dealing with princess' costume "change" (cough-cough).

So acknowledging that different peoples have different skin colors is now Un-PC?

Apparently nudity is un-pc in the extreme....

But Barsoomians aren't humans, some of them also differ by more than color alone...hello green men have four arms and tusks. d**n Disney.

I dunno...that so-called Green Man of mars looks sort of like a distant cousin of Jar Jar Binks!!!

Based on that one photo of a Thark ( ) it just doesn't look savage enough to suit me. The sight of the greem men should strike utter terror into the audience. Looks like Disney toned even that down. "We don't want to scare all those consum--*cough*--children, otherwise they won't buy all the merchandise." "We here at Disney don't approve of the evil, wicked female form, so we covered up Dejah's terrible sinfulness. And violence is strictly forbidden, since we don't want to traumatise children like we mistakenly did with Bambi years ago. We learned that the hard way. Our motto is: Make everything as bland and bourgeouis as possible to appeal to the greatest common denominator."

I would too, as long as they were around 25mm size: I could buy up a bunch and finally get to run my Barsoomian wargames!

I'd be really happy if they'd release a set of pre-painted 25mm miniatures! (I don't enjoy painting. My GW LotR minis look really bad....)

Oh heck, if they were 54, or 75mm I'd still buy them! Just need to make bigger terrain, or build a permanent "Martian Desert".... Oh, the missus would kill me....

Kill the water sucking lawn out back and build a "desert Garden" the cacti flower well, and the taller ones can hide the spires of the long dead cities.

I don't water mine anyway..... Hmm maybe mom had it right. She had her front yard done up in red pumice. Never thought of my mom's place as Barsoom before.... Her reason? She never wanted to mow again!
