Yhency will sacrifice his shield if hit again. Otherwise, he's sure he'll win initiative this time and take that lion down.

The elves win initiative, and Gallaine plunges her sword into the lion's heart, killing it. (Rolled 16, did five damage). The crowd boos in frustration. Again the mist surrounds them, and a voice echoes around: YOU HAVE PROVEN MOST SKILLED, BUT FOR YOUR FINAL TASK YOU NOW FACE YOUR MOST DEADLY OPPONENT - YOURSELVES
You are back in the same arena, in your normal adventuring gear, with full hit points and all your spells. 100 feet away from you are your evil doubles.

Gallaine tells Evilgallaine "I've come for the Elvish treasures buried over there," pointing directly behind Evilgallaine, "If you dig it up for me, you can have some too..."

Initiative is important here - and the evil one wins it 5-6! But his bow breaks as he tries to fire! Yhency closes the gap, but misses his well armored foe (14). Gallaine is halfway to the fight

EY looses initiative as he has to draw his sword. The two non-evil elves attack! They both miss (7 and 3), as does EY.
A second round has Yhency (18) slice some of EY up for 5 damage, although Gallaine (10) and EY miss.
Again they fight, 2 on 1, and Yhency bemoans his excellent AC as he rolls a 15 and misses, but Gallaine (19) does another 5 damage and evil Yhency dies. With Evil Gallaine off in la la land, the dynamic duo has won again!

The world changes again, and Yhency and Gallaine are in a plain octagonal room with three chests labelled WISDOM, RICHES and POWER.
A voice booms YOU HAVE FOUGHT WELL FOR OUR ENTERTAINMENT, NOW CHOOSE THE REWARD YOU WISH. KNOW THIS, THOUGH, THAT YOU CAN NOT BOTH CHOOSE THE SAME REWARD. THE UNUSED GIFT WILL VANISH ONCE YOU MAKE YOUR CHOICES

Gallaine (being of neutral alignment) doesn't pause too long to see what Yhenncy's choice might be... she approaches the "power" chest eagerly...

A second round has Yhency (18) slice some of EY up for 5 damage, although Gallaine (10) and EY miss. Just out of curiousity, if the giant strength doubles his damage, how can Yhency get an odd number (5)? Yhency would have gone for the power chest, but settles for the RICHES one instead. Who needs wisdom? ;D

Just out of curiousity, if the giant strength doubles his damage, how can Yhency get an odd number (5)? Monsters and Treasure, page 31: Giant Strength: Gives the recipient full Giant prowess, including two dice of damage when he scores a hit.

While Yhency dithers, Gallaine touches the POWER chest and it *poofs*. In its wake, hanging in the air is a wondrous-looking wizard's staff.

Yhency opens the WISDOM chest, and a bright light surrounds him, then dissipates. He has gained a level, and all of his Ability Scores increase by 1. His new hit points are 13, and he is healed and has his spells back.

Now that they have been rewarded, reality shifts and they find themselves back in the octagonal room beside a very startled Patronus.
