The Shadow catches the late-comers up on the whereabouts of the foreman and the 26 feral whites in the room next door.
"Anyone have a plan? The best I could come up with so far was to get everyone back to the entrance of the cave, cover as much of the tunnel where we fought the plant monster with oil as we can, then get them to come after us. Once most of the whites are in the tunnel we light it up and burn them out."
"Or... we could try to do something similar here, just keeping them from coming through this doorway. But somehow we have to contain them or we'll be overrun."

Fated to Die: "Small point of order here. Maybe some of you noticed my recent arrival? In the clutches of that hulking bat-thing that can vanish into thin air? In the past hour I've been into the void between worlds, twice. The leviathan that attacked and derailed our train? I met it, up close and personal. I found Pack Slave - he's in about ten different pieces because of those two."
"We have many enemies here, and the worst of them are not behind that door. Perhaps a retreat to the train is in order? Much is left unexplored in that direction, including a tantalizing hole in the wall. Let us return and tell the other passengers that salvation lies this way, and let them contend with the White Men for us."
The sleeping chamber is 50' diameter and the manhole-sized pit is in the center, 25' from either entrance.
To recap the occupants of the far room: 25 white cannibals who fight as Light Foot and whose bite requires a save vs. poison (effects of a failed save currently unknown, possibly some kind of "transformation"), the wounded Green Foreman who attacks thrice per round on the man-to-man table, and a chatty middle-aged White Man surgeon (combat abilities unknown, if any).

"Well, considering all these things, I think we should do one of two things. ONE - try to use some of this rubbish, if any of it is large enough, to barricade this door (iirc it opens toward us,) then get out of here. TWO - pile as much rubbish as possible in a tight semicircle around this side of the door, set it alight, raise a warning call to get them coming, then face them in combat as they try to navigate the flames."
Happy to try if anyone can recommend a good mapping software, not going to subject you to my hand-drawn artwork.
You can imagine the room as a 50-foot donut with a 5-foot hole in the center. The passage from the tunnel and the closed door are at opposite north and south ends of the room. Debris is piled into "nests" and some of the material is certainly flammable.
"It seems then that our one advantage here is that they must come through the door to face us. If we can hold the door, we will hold the advantage. The other door may be an exit, or it may simply be another room." Breath of New Moon says.
"I do not think we can lure them into the pit, as they already know of its presence."
"I still think we should face them now, if we head back to the train they may simply follow us and attack when they have the advantage."

Fated to Die: "Their mouths looked a little... unclean. Maybe you slay every last fiend, but a single bite gets through and your goose is cooked. Count me out - I'll take my chances getting back to the train."
