The 4th printing of the S&W Core Rules have been released in free pdf! They can be downloaded at lulu - www.lulu.com/product/ebook/swords-wizardry-core-rules-%28pdf%29/15718826or at RPGnow - www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=62346I have the books up on lulu (hardcover and softcover) up on lulu but I have NOT seen the test copies yet. The only reason they are up for sale is in case someone desperately wants to have a copy for NTRPGCon. These are the rules I will be using for my Mythrus Tower game at NTRPGCon, but older copies of the Core Rules or copies of the Complete Rules will work just fine for table reference at that game, so there isn't a need to buy these for the con. I will confirm once I have checked the test copies of the printed books - I am 99% certain that they will be fine, but one likes to be sure. There are few changes to the earlier Core Rules, mainly additional alternatives or more resources. As examples, (a) the full saving throw matrix is included for those who don't like the single saving throw, (b) a wilderness encounter table is included, (c) there are some more monsters, (d) attribute effects and hit dice comport with Supplement 1 instead of being a fusion with WhiteBox, (e) there is a alternative sequence of battle similar to that of the Holmes blue book, (f) there is a two-page sample campaign setting (using my Mythrus Tower campaign). Also, I finally fixed the movement rates for combat movement, and errata is all done. Enjoy!

Just downloaded and took a quick look. This is my first time looking at S&W (or any retroclone!). Very nicely done. I like the artwork. And the inclusion of the "Blue Book" combat sequence.
The illustration on the bottom of page 23 (lizardman on lizard mount) is an homage to the Holmes rulebook page illustration?

Spotted one possible typo in the Sample Dungeon (though I might be mis-understanding what it is saying):
Page 72: "Stairs lead down to this room from the first Level (Room6, lv2) and continue downward to Level 3 (Room 8, lv3)".
Should this say "... from the first Level (Room6, lv1) and ..."?

Should this say "... from the first Level (Room6, lv1) and ..."? No, this is on level 2. Maybe I didn't say that anywhere else in the text, but it's definitely level 2 (ask anyone from the Mythrus Tower sessions at NTRPGCon) ;D

I'm afraid that I wasn't clear enough. The top of page 72 makes it clear that the sample level is Level 2. But the description I copied above is from the room "1. STAIRS UP", which is room 1 on the map of Level 2. The description seems to be saying that the stairs lead up to Room 6 on level 1 and down to Room 8 on level 3 (these other levels are not shown). If this is the case, it seems the sentence should say "Stairs lead down to this room from the first Level (Room6, lv1) and continue downward to Level 3 (Room 8, lv3)".
