Grim of Dunland, known to be a hardy fighter, met his end in the great West Hall of Moria. He was defeated in battle by a pack of ignorant Rock Trolls.
His body and possessions were recovered by the remainder of Soval's Mercenaries.
May he rest in peace.

The company was attacked from behind in the West Passage by a party of Orc fighters who came to investigate the great noise being made by the company; firstly in defeating the Trolls in the West Hall, and secondly in hauling an old mining car out of the Trolls' den an attempting to run it along the rail track.
Though the Orcs were bested, Beranger a mercenary fighter from the North Downs, and Barald the Old Boar of south Mirkwood were both slain in the fighting by foul hearted Orcs.
Rest well.

The company retraced their steps to make the first night's camp beyond the West Gate. Alas, they had stirred the Orcs within, and a great number came seeking them by night. The company were ill-prepared to meet this enemy and a terrible battle was fought in darkness among the Holly trees.
The Orcs were eventually driven off, but only at great cost.
Ugrik, Oin and Glorban the Dwarf fighters, and Burmon, Hepti and Ymir the Dwarf hirelings all went to the halls of their ancestors.
Telthalion the Elf warder was ended.
Einar, Ran and Dalain the fighting-Men were slain, as was Frewine the Rohirrim groom.
Eremin Sulk of Bree was put unto the Earth, and Elindir Half-elven of Rivendell scarcely survived his injuries (constitution reduced by 1, to 5).
Also slain were Alf the guard dog, Fumbul the mule and Eohild's rouncy Gleowine.
Rest well, brave souls.
